    The day before yesterday, I went to the largest bookstore where is near our school to buy a reference book. It was Saturday, so there was many people.     With the summer vacation is drawing near, my classmates are all trying very hardly to get train tickets to go home except me. I have a different plan for the upcoming vacation. I have made up my mind to spend the first two weeks of the vacation travel alone in Sichuan and Guizhou and then work part-time in the city centre library for rest of the vacation. Since I won't go home, my parents are going to visit myself on campus. When they coming here, I will show them around my university and the city as well. I am thinking of buying them some nice gifts, it will be a big surprising for them. My parents mean a lot to me.     I can still remember clearly the day after I had my first exam in Senior High. I didn't pass them. I was so scared that I even don't want to go to school any more. My parents looked my test paper calmly but said, “My child, we're very glad you has finished half of it and you can do better next time. We never expect you to do the best at a very beginning. We strong believe you can make progress gradually.” What they said made me to feel I could do things well. From then on, I have concentrated much on my studies.     During the summer vacation of my first year in high school, I just stay at home all day long, lying in bed and listening to music. Even my father got tiring of seeing me lying in my rooms. One day, I thought I couldn't live in this way any longer, but I asked my father if he could buy us a basketball and he said yes. He told me that if I really wanted play, I would need to show him. Every time he saw me playing the basketball with my friends, he smiled. Gradual, I became so active that I could concentrate much on my studies than before.     A lecture will be hold in the lecture hall of our school from 3: 00 to 5: 00 in the afternoon of May 23rd, 2018. The lecture is about the difference and similarities between China and American education. They will be given by Professor Steve, that is now teaching at Beijing University.
