浙江省湖州市十二中2018年英语中考三模试卷

根据短文内容和所给中文提示,在空白出=处写出正确的单词,每空限填一词。

Making friends is a skill. Like most skills, you can (改进;更新) it if you are patient. If you want to meet people and make friends, you must be willing to take (行动). You must first go where there are people. You won't make friends staying home alone.

Joining a club or a group, talking to those who like the same things as you do is much easier. Or join someone in some (活动).

Many people are nervous when talking to new people. After all, meeting strangers means seeing the unknown. And it's human (自然) to feel a bit unpleasant about the unknown. Most of fears about dealing with new people come from doubts about (我们自己). We imagine other people are judging us—finding us too tall or too short, too this or too that. But don't (忘记)that they must be feeling the same way. Try to (接受) yourself as you are, and try to make others feel at home. You'll all feel comfortable.

Try to be (勇敢的) even if you don't feel that way when you enter a room full of (陌生人). Walk tall and straight, look directly at other people and smile.

If you see someone you'd like to speak to, say something. Don't wait for the other person to start a talk.

Just meeting someone new doesn't mean that you'll make friends with that person. Friendship is based on mutual likings and "give and take". It takes time and effort for us to develop friendship. And there are things that stop a new friendship from growing.

举一反三
阅读下面短文, 然后根据括号内所给汉语意思写出单词的正确形式(每空一次)。

When I was in the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (九) grade, luckily, I was chosen to be the princess in the school play. For weeks my mother had helped me practice my lines. But {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (一旦) on the stage, every word disappeared from my head. Then my teacher asked me to change my role to be a narrator (解说者) for the play.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (尽管) I didn't tell my mother what had happened that day, she noticed my unhappiness. She asked if I wanted to take a walk in the garden.

It was a lovely spring day. We could see several dandelions (蒲公英) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (在…中间) the grass. I watched my mother bend down by one of the dandelions. "I think I'll dig up all these weeds (野草)," she said. "From now on, we'll only have roses in this garden."

"But I like dandelions," I disagreed. "All flowers are beautiful-even dandelions!"

My mother looked {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (严肃地) at me. "Yes, every flower gives pleasure in its {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (自己的) way, doesn't it?" she asked thoughtfully. I nodded. "And that is true of people, too," she added.

When I {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(意识到) that she had guessed my pain, I started to cry and told her the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (真相). "But you will be a wonderful narrator," she said, reminding me of how much I loved to read stories aloud.

Thanks to my mother's encouragement, I got to know everybody had his or her {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (价值) in the world. I felt {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (骄傲的) of the role in the play.
