To: Emily From: Li Ping Dear: Emily, I'm glad to receive your email. I'm writing to Yours Li Ping |
Dear Li Ping, How is everything going with you? I'll move to London because of my father's job next month. My parents told me to take something important to the new house. But there are so many things in my room. And it's really hard for me to part with them. What should I take? What should I do with the things I can't take? Could you please give me some advice? I'm looking forward to your reply. Yours, Claudia |

Dear Sally,
I found a best place to keep fit! Last month, I joined a gym and I feel {#blank#}1{#/blank#} and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} relaxed now. What's more, I'm much thinner.
I go to the gym three times a week, and I spend the most {#blank#}3{#/blank#} on the exercise machines. They are the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} important part of my exercise program. I also practice the setting-up exercise. It's {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to dance with a group of people. The gym is the most {#blank#}6{#/blank#} one in town, but it is the nearest to my home, so I like spending my time there. I love the coaches in this gym. They are very responsible(负责的).
The {#blank#}7{#/blank#} thing about the gym is the changing rooms(更衣室).Most people come here in the evening,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} the changing rooms are the most {#blank#}9{#/blank#} at that time.
The gym is a great place to be, I think! Come and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} it!Then we can have fun and keep fit together! I'm sure you will love it!
Yours,
Cathy
Go Ape is an adventure park, with shaking bridges, zip wires and Tarzan swings. One of the most important things about the courses is the trees. Chris Miller, tells us what his jobs are and why you should join him in Go Ape.
What does a Senior Tree Officer do? I am responsible for taking care of over 3, 000 trees across 36 places. I also make sure the trees are healthy and strong. |
Have you always loved trees and the outdoors? My dad has always had a love of nature. He loves watching birds, so from a young age I had a very outdoorsy childhood. |
Do you ever feel scared of heights? Tree climbing and outdoor activities were always a part of my childhood, but as you grow up, you lose that fearlessness (无畏). There are some moments when you get to the top of a tree and you're questioning a lot of things, but you have to calm down and don't overthink things. |
What do you like about trees? Their beauty. Every tree can tell a story. |
Do you have a favourite tree fact? How shallow (浅的) tree roots are! A lot of people think they go down deep, but they're actually shallow, only in the top metre of earth and wide spreading (延展). |
What is your favourite type of tree? One of my favourites is a paperbark maple. I've got one in my garden that I planted a few years ago. It's got this lovely rich dark brown bark. |
How would you describe Go Ape in three words? Adventure, fun and trees. |
What do you want to say to our readers? "Come and enjoy the treetop adventures in our courses!" |
