On the day, I thought I was the{#blank#}10{#/blank#} person in the world.

    One sunny spring morning, Clark and I were {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in the school library. Then I looked out ofthe {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and saw Mr. White, my English teacher crossing the school yard. “I don't want to meet him,” I said. “Why {#blank#}3{#/blank#}?” asked Clark. “He just doesn't like me.”I explained.

Clark thought for a second and said, “Maybe you've gotit wrong. He probably {#blank#}4{#/blank#} you don't like him, so he's not {#blank#}5{#/blank#} toyou. People like people who like them. If you show interest in him, he {#blank#}6{#/blank#} beinterested in you. Get to talk to him.”

    At last I walked down and greeted Mr. White warmly. Helooked at {#blank#}7{#/blank#},surprised. And then we laughed together and talked happily. I could imagine Clark watching {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the window, smiling.

    Learn to {#blank#}9{#/blank#} people first. You'll find that the light you shine on others will soon be shining back at you even {#blank#}10{#/blank#} brightly.

    Next time you're in a public place, take a look-around you. And {#blank#}1{#/blank#}how many people are using their phones. I can tell you now that it is probably more than half, whether you're on a bus, in a care {#blank#}2{#/blank#}simply walking down the street.

    I'm not saying that I am not an example of this, but it {#blank#}3{#/blank#}mazes(使惊愕) me how people can spend so much time on their phones without {#blank#}4{#/blank#}to others. Has it gone too far?

    Recently, my smart phone broke and had to be {#blank#}5{#/blank#}off for repair for a week or so. I had to use a really old, basic phone just to keep me in touch with my family and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. All I could do on this phone was to send text messages, make calls and play one game. And I loved it. I loved being  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}from the Internet, and I really didn't mind not having updates(更新) about what my friends were doing. It allowed {#blank#}8{#/blank#}to spend more time enjoying my time in London and watching the people {#blank#}9{#/blank#}me and really see what was going on.

    However, I knew that as soon as I got my smart phone back I would be one of those{#blank#}10{#/blank#}once again. Perhaps I should just go back to using the basic phone and forget I ever got my smart phone back.

A: Look! There is a red hat on the desk. Whose is it?

B: Is it Helen's?

A: No. It can't be hers. She never {#blank#}1{#/blank#} hats.

B: It might be Cindy's. She likes hats. And red is her favorite color.

A: Let's ask her. Cindy, is this your hat?

C: No. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} is at home, I don't wear it today.

A: Well, it can't be Cindy's. She says hers is at home.

B: Is it Bill's?

A: Let's ask him. Bill, is this red hat {#blank#}3{#/blank#}?

D: No, it isn't.

A: It doesn't {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to Helen, Cindy or Bill. Then whose red hat is this? Is it Eric's?

B: Oh! It must be his. I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} him wear it yesterday.

    Last Friday night, the weather was really bad. It was raining heavily. I was {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. There would be a school trip to a country park the next day and I was afraid that the trip would be canceled (被取消) because of the bad {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. I went to bed early that night, hoping that it would be a nice day the next day.

    I woke up early the next morning. I looked {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the window. The rain stopped! The sky was full of clouds. It was cloudy. I quickly {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the television for the weather report. The report said it wouldn't be {#blank#}5{#/blank#} on the weekend. Great!

    I went to school and everybody was excited that {#blank#}6{#/blank#} school trip was not canceled. When we arrived at the country park, we {#blank#}7{#/blank#} that the sun was shining. We played games and enjoyed our lunch there. However, we couldn't fly the kite {#blank#}8{#/blank#} it was not windy at all.

    At four o'clock, it was time to {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. Miss Black said it might become foggy (有雾的) soon and we might not be able to see {#blank#}10{#/blank#} clearly. So we picked up our things quickly and left.
