Mr Smith lived by the sea. He had a big family and he had to work hard, or  his wife and children would be{#blank#}1{#/blank#} . So he had to get up early every day. After breakfast he set out in a small boat. He always hoped to{#blank#}2{#/blank#} . 
     One morning the man got to a good place for fishing.  He threw a long rope with many hooks（钩子）into the water. He found it very{#blank#}3{#/blank#} and pulled the hooks out of the sea. He saw there were some gold chains（链子. He , of course, was very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} . 
    “I'll {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  for a lot of money ,” he thought to himself.“I'll build a new house and buy expensive things. I'll be the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} man in the world!”
    Mr. Smith went on drawing his rope and didn't notice what was happening to his boat. It began to{#blank#}7{#/blank#} . As he was pulling the gold chains, the boat sank into the sea. He lost not only the gold chains ,but also {#blank#}8{#/blank#} !

    A 12-year-old boy got lost on the subway after going out alone on Sunday. The boy came to Shanghai to visit his parents during the summer holiday. Although his parents were happy to see him, they {#blank#}1{#/blank#} little time with him. The boy did his homework for two {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and felt bored, so he went out to play on the subway. He had fun playing there. But when he felt tired and hungry, and wanted to go home, he didn't know at which station he should get off. The police found the boy {#blank#}3{#/blank#} on the subway and took him to the office. They bought him something to eat and asked him some questions. The boy's parents couldn't find him after arriving home. They felt {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and called the police right away. They got to the police office and saw {#blank#}5{#/blank#} son. They were very happy and thanked the police.
