Mary： What are you doing in the garden, John?

John： I'm watering the flowers. My mother says we must water the flowers every day, or they will die (死).

Mary： But it's raining now.

John:  Oh, it doesn't matter. Mary, I have an umbrella.

    It is Children's Day. I go to the cinema with Amy. Jill goes to the zoo with her parents. Tom goes to the museum with his friends. Lucy goes to the park with her classmates. We are very happy. We love Children's Day.

Hans Christian Andersen

    Hans Christian Andersen was a great writer.  He wrote many famous fairy tales for children all over the world.

    Andersen was born in 1805. When he was a little boy, his father read him a story every day. His father died when he was 11. He had to leave school and started working. He loved reading books very much, so he went back to school at 17. His first book came out in 1835. From then on, he wrote about one book a year for 37 years. Some of his famous fairy tales are The Emperor's New, Clothes and The Ugly Duckling. He died in 1875.

    Many children enjoy reading because of him.

Last Sunday was a holiday. It was sunny. My friends and I went to the park by bus. We saw some children. They played games. We played games too. We saw some birds. They sang beautifully, and we sang some songs too. We had a picnic under a tree. We ate and drank. Then we walked in the park. We had a good time.
