My father is at home

    One fine afternoon John plays football in front of a house with his friends. A young woman comes up and asks him,"John, is your father at home?"  "Yes, he is. He is reading a book in his bedroom." Answers John. Then the young woman goes over to press the bell. The bell rings and rings, but no one comes to open the door. The young woman gets angry and calls to him, "You tell me your father is at home, don't you.'?"  "Yes, my father is at home. But my home isn't here."

    Everybody wants to be healthy. You know food is very important. There are many healthy foods. You can have more bananas, apples, oranges, tomatoes and potatoes. Because fruits and vegetables are good for you. But don't eat too much chocolate. It's bad for you. It's not good healthy food. Healthy food can make you grow and strong. Remember there is a saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Sports can also keep you healthy. Get up early and do some sports every day. You will be healthy and happy.

    Jack and Tina are good friends. This Sunday they will go to the Palace Museum. It is old and beautiful. It's about six hundred years old. It is famous in the world. This will be their second time to go there. They hope it will be sunny that day. Jack's mother says, “There are many things there. When you look in the windows, you can see many old tables and chairs.” They will take pictures. They think it will be a wonderful trip!

Tom: What can you do on the computer?

Peter: I often play games and I download(下载) music from the Internet. Do you use the computer, Anne?

Anne: Yes, I do. I sometimes check the train timetable. And I often find out about countries in the world. What about you, Dongdong?

Dongdong: I often search for a lot of things on the computer. And I always email my friend in Australia. What can you do on the computer, Tom?

Tom: I often do my homework on the computer.

Air Jordan

    Michael Jordan (1963- ) is one of the most famous basketball players in the world. He was born in Brooklyn (布鲁克林), New York. He didn't like to talk about himself. He was also very short. He didn't play very well when he joined the basketball team in his high school at first. But the next year things changed greatly for him, as he grew much taller.

    Michael Jordan became famous when he joined the university basketball team in North Carolina (北卡罗来纳州). Michael used his quickness and strength to reach the basket again and again. He played so well that people call him Air Jordan. After college, Michael became a member of the Chicago Bull basketball team. The NBA was very surprised at this high-flying player. He was named Rookie of the year in 1985 and the most Valuable Player in 1987. He once set a record by getting 63 points in one game.
