Some students have their favorite pop stars or sport stars. They admire them very much. They admire their ability and the way they live their lives. Young people are full of potential ( 潜能) and have lots of questions about their futures: What kind of person will I be? What kind of job can I do? ①Sportsmen and pop stars seem to havealready answered these questions in their own lives. But when you watch these people, you only see a part of their lives, the public part. Their everyday lives might be very d_②______.

Many parents worry that their children will follow the bad side of their idols (偶像). And many young people are often disappointed to discover that their favorite idols ③have feet of clay. But the lucky thing is that they don't have to behave exactly like their idols.

④Celebrities (名人) are fun to watch and admire, but the best idols are often the people you see in your everyday life: your family, your neighbors and your teachers. These are the people who teach you how to be honest and how to get along with others.

    A mouse was surprised to discover that the farmer and his wife had a mousetrap(老鼠夹)in the house. It ran to warn everyone, "There is a mousetrap in the house!"

    A hen raised its head and said, "Mr. Mouse, this mousetrap is only for you. I won't be worried about it. "The mouse turned to a pig." I am sorry, Mr. Mouse, but the mousetrap has nothing to do with me, either! "the pig said. Then the mouse turned to a cow. "It sounds like you have a problem, not me," the cow said. The mouse returned to the house with its head down and it was very sad because no one would help.

    That night the farmer's wife heard a loud sound and she rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness she could not see that it was a snake. The snake bit(咬)the farmer's wife. The wife caught a bad fever and the farmer thought the best way to treat a fever was having chicken soup. So the farmer killed the hen for the soup. The wife got worse and her friend came to visit her. The farmer had to kill the pig to feed them. But the wife didn't get better and died. Her friends came and the farmer had to kill the cow to feed all of them.

    So remember when any one of us is in trouble, we may be in trouble.

    Johnny Smith was a high school student who was good at Maths. He loved his computer. He came home early every day, and then he worked with it till midnight. But Johnny was poor at English indeed. He usually got "F" in his English. One day after school, Johnny joined his computer to the computer in his school office. The school office computer had the grades of all the students; the Maths grades, the science grades, the grades in arts and music and the grades in English. He found his English grade was an "F" again! Johnny changed it from "F" to "A". The next day, Johnny's parents looked at his school report card. They were very happy. "An 'A' in English!" said his father. "You are a very clever boy, Johnny." However, they didn't even know that Johnny was a hacker.

    Hackers know how to take information from other computers and put in false information by using a mode. They join their computers to others' secretly. School headmasters and teachers are worried about hackers, so are the police, for some people even take money from bank computer accounts and put it into their own ones. And they never need to leave home to do it! They are called hackers.

    When you hear the name Hollywood, you probably think of excitement, lights, cameras and movie stars. Famous actors are not the only important people in the entertainment business. Directors and producers are important, too. Today, Hollywood is full of producers and directors. And it is one of the tourist destinations in America.

    In 1911 the small, peaceful village of Hollywood in California voted to become part of Los Angeles. Today, over 100 years later, this village has grown into the home of one of the best-known industries in the world- the American film industry.

    With this growth, came many well-known symbols. There is the famous Hollywood sign which stands above the hills of the town. The first sign was built in 1923. Then there is Hollywood Hall of Fame, where great actresses, actors and directors leave their footprints or handprints. Norma Tallmadge was the first actress to do this in 1927. But most famous of all are the Oscar Academy Awards(奥斯卡颁奖). In March of every year a number of actresses, actors and directors wait nervously to find out if they have won an "Oscar". The 85th Oscar Academy Awards was held on February 25, 2013, in Los Angeles. Ang Lee(李安),a Chinese director won the best director again. It was his second time to win an "Oscar".

    Nowadays it becomes more and more common for films to be made away from Hollywood itself, but it remains the home of films, and thousands of hopeful young actresses, actors, writers and directors still come to "the Dream Factory" every year. But not all Hollywood dreams have been happy ones- as one actress, who later died tragically(悲惨地), said," Hollywood is a place where they will pay you 500 dollars for a kiss, and 50 cents for your soul.
