There were many problems when people first moved into the cities in the US and UK. Many lived in bad conditions in poor housing. The governments on {#blank#}1{#/blank#} sides of the Atlantic, worked to improve the living conditions of city dwellers (居民). For a while, especially in the U.S., city life came to be seen as the best and most exciting way to live. Living in the rural areas was regarded as boring. Who wanted to be struggling to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a living in the country doing hard agricultural labor?

    Many in the UK believed that they had a much better chance of improving themselves in the city. It would be {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (easy) to move from the ranks of manual laborers to the middle classes {#blank#}4{#/blank#} they could get better jobs and education. However, Britain has always had a deep love of the beauty and peacefulness of the countryside. The upper classes have always liked to have a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} both in London and in the country. People also believe that village and small town life is better for children. Many say that the schools,

    That Beijing, together with Zhangjiakou, succeeded in getting the chance to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, speeds up the development of Zhangjiakou City. Word came {#blank#}1{#/blank#}the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(locate) in North China, is currently under construction, and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(expect) to be completed by 2020 in preparation for the cities to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. Starting from Beijing North Railway Station, heading west through the Great Wall three times in the capital's territory, the project is a big challenge, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} designers say the explosions needed to dig the tunnels will not have an impact on the structure. The line has a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(long) of 174 km as a double tracked passenger dedicated line, with ten stations situated along its route. Having a {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(totally) investment of 31.17 billion yuan ($5 billion), the trip between the two cities will only take 40 minutes, with the train {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(travel) at an average of 250 km/h. According to the plan, the high-speed railway will build two branch lines—one is to Yanqing Station and the other {#blank#}8{#/blank#} Taizicheng of Chongli, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the Olympic village lies.     In order to know a foreign language thoroughly, four things are necessary. Firstly, we must understand the language when we hear {#blank#}1{#/blank#} spoken.. Secondly, we must be able to speak it correctly with confidence and without hesitation. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ,we must be able to read the language , and fourthly, we must be able to write it. We must be able to make sentences that are grammatically correct.
