I really only meant it as a joke. I wasn't trying to steal anything honestly.
   My friend Matthew started bringing his new cell phone to class last week. He was walking around bragging (吹嘘) about it to everyone. He was saying, "My cell phone can download the newest 1 off the Internet."Then he 2everyone by downloading a game and starting to play it. The pictures and sound were really 3.4 class, he would use his cell phone to watch TV. The rest of us didn't have a phone like  5, so we had to crowd(拥挤) around him. I was just trying to see the screen, 6 there were so many other kids that I could not see it clearly. I was getting really jealous.
   But then yesterday, he forgot his cell phone at the end of class. He left it right on his desk. 7 noticed it was there except me. I decided to teach him a lesson. I took his phone quietly off the desk, and put it in my own bag. My 8 was to give it back to him the next day. I 9  wanted to see his reaction (反应). Maybe he would stop being such a show-off.
   But this morning he rushed into class, screaming and yelling (吼叫). He was very 10  and almost mad. He started accusing (指责) different people of  11 his phone, but I had it in my  12  the whole time. He even started fighting with another classmate 13  Matthew was sure that person had taken it. The teacher sent them to the headmaster's office. They  14   got in a lot of trouble. Now I don't know what to 15 ! If I tell him that I took the cell phone, he'll think I stole it. If I don't tell him, then I really did steal it. How did I get into such a trouble?

    In the Pacific Ocean lies Easter Island(复活节岛), a strange and magic place. The island 1 its English name from the Dutch explorer(荷兰探险者 ) Jacob Roggeveen. He arrived there on Easter in 1722. There, Roggeveen found a strange culture and even stranger huge 2called moat and they looked like men. Since that time, 3 all over the world have tried to find out how people came to the island and how they built such huge stones. But scientists still can't agree on 4the island's people came from. Did they 5 from Chile or Hawaii Island, very far from there? No one knows. So far, it is 6a mystery(谜). These huge stone men are also a mystery. Scientists think that the people 7 and moved the huge stone men there thousands of years ago. But how did they do it? And why did they do it? 8can really guess.

    As time went by, the people on the island died out slowly 9 fighting and illnesses. Thousands of people used to live on the island.10now, there only live several hundred. Luckily, they still have their traditional culture.

    One day a professor entered the classroom and told the students about a surprise test. Now the professor gave the test papers to all students with text facing down at the desk. After he 1 the test to all students, he asked —them to turn the test pages and begin.

    Students were 2 to see that there was not a question but just a black dot(小圆点）in the center of the page. The professor 3 the students' face expressions and told them," I want you to write about what you see there."

    The students were 4 surprised but got started with the test. At the end of the class, the professor took all answer papers and started reading each 5 from each paper. All of them 6 about the black dot and tried to explain its position(位置). After the professor finished reading, the whole class was 7 .

    8 , the professor explained, "Don't worry. I'm not going to give you 9 for this test, but I just want you to think about something. Here everyone paid attention to the black dot and wrote about it 10 no one wrote about the white paper, the same is with our lives. The white paper represents our whole life and the black spot represents 11 in our life.

    Our life is a gift given to us 12 God, with love and care, and we always have reasons to celebrate-our friends around us, the joy 13 provides us our livelihood, the happiness in our families. Still we only care about problems like health problems, study problems, problems in relationships, but we 14 see that these problems are very small compared everything we have in our lives”

    So we should try to take eyes off our problems and enjoy each nice moment that life gives 15. Just smile, and life will smile to us!

    Years ago, I celebrated my 40^th birthday with friends in a 1 restaurant. Many arrived earlier and waited outside the restaurant, as I was on the roadside, a homeless man came near to me and 2money. I let him know I didn't have any cash (现金)with me. With a quiet smile on his face, he moved on.

    Just then a friend arrived and called out, "Happy Birthday!" Hearing this, the man turned and asked, "Hey, man, it's your birthday？""Yes, "I said. He walked 3, smiled and said, "Happy Birthday!" I was not 4 ready for what happened next. He took out a dollar from his dirty bag, and gave it to me, saying, "Here man, take this. Happy Birthday! "That's 5. I expected he was making a joke!

    Although I 6 deeply by his generosity (慷慨), accepting money from a homeless man was embarrassing for me. I felt very uncomfortable. 7I replied, "Thanks, but…"Looking directly into my eyes, he said, "God, so good to me Every night, I always end up with a place to sleep and enough food to eat. Please take this. "I held out my hand-8 thinking twice, saying," thank you"

    This was one of my9 life lessons— however poor we may feel, we always have something valuable to share with others. From then on I often helped people in need and treated everyone with kindness and 10, spreading love and joy everywhere I went.

    Once I went to a railway station near New York. I tried to take the night train there. Crowds of people were pushing into the 1 train. I found a railway official and asked him if I could get a place in the train, but he said sharply, "No, you can't. The train is full. Don't trouble me any more."

    I was very hurt indeed. I said to the friend who was with me. "They talk to me like this2they don't know that I am a famous writer. If they knew..."But before I could finish my sentence my friend said, "Don't be foolish. How could that help you? Whoever you are, there are no empty seats on the train." I was3he was wrong, so I went up to the same official again and told him that I was Mark Twain. But all he said was," I told you not to trouble me any more."

    Just then I4a young porter in a sleeping car looking at me. He whispered something to the train conductor, and that conductor came over to me and said very politely, "Do you need help, sir?" "I5do." I answered.

    The porter took our boxes and we got on to the train. When we were comfortably seated in our places, my friend said, "I am sorry I said those things to you just now..." Just then the porter came and said, "Oh, sir, I recognized you immediately." "Really?" I Said6. "Of course," he said, "I recognized you and told the conductor that you" are Mr Smith, the mayor(市长) of New York city.

    Kevin sat at the desk in his study, pencil in hand. He had to write a story for his English class by Friday. "I don't know what to1," he complained to his dog, who was asleep at his feet. Kevin was talkative when speaking to his friends, yet he had2finding words he had to write.

    By bedtime Kevin had drawn a picture of his dog smiling. He had drawn a tree with its branches(树枝) blowing in a high wind. He had also written a3asking his friend to go to the movies on Saturday.4he had not written a single word of his story.

    On Wednesday, Mrs. Scott, Kevin's English teacher, asked the class to5the first draft of their stories. Kevin had to turn in the only work that he had—the page with his name, the6, and the note.

    Kevin wasn't7when Mrs Scott asked him to stay after class the next day. But he was surprised by what8said to him. Look at your note and the pictures and try to see10a story comes to you."

    That night Kevin sat at his desk, and this was what he wrote: "One Saturday Tom went to meet his friend at the11it looked as if it might rain, so Tom12his umbrella. Suddenly a big storm blew in. The noise of the wind13like Tom's dog Spotty. Spotty really hated storms and barked whenever he wanted to be let inside. Then Tom saw Spotty running after him down the busy street, barking. The sound was full of blame(责备). Tom felt14because he had left Spotty outside. He turned and headed home with Spotty. Tom let Spotty in the door just and the rain started to pour down."

    Kevin had a story after all. The last thing he did was to write his name15at the top of the page.
