    We all enjoy read short stories by O. Henry, such as "The last leaf" and "The Gift of Magi".

    Fewer writers in the world have ever put into prison. And even fewer took great success in prison. While O. Henry, the famous short story writer, was one of him. O. Henry, his real name was William Sidney Porter, was born on September 11, 1862.

    In 1884, O. Henry entered the First National Bank as teller (出纳). On February 10, 1896, Henry was said to have something to do with the disappearance of $1,150 from the bank. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment

    In order to make money support his family, O. Henry began write stories to magazines. These stories became quiet popular with readers.

    O. Henry died in New York in January 5, 1910. He was buried in North Carolina, the state where he was born.

    My soccer coach retired in last week．I wanted to do anything special for him at his retirement party．My mum makes the better biscuits in the world，so I decide to ask her for help．Mum taught me some basic step of baking．I insisted on doing most of the baking myself. I thought the biscuits were really well．My only mistake was that I dropped some on the floor after I was packing them up．

    At a party, my coach, with a biscuit in his mouth, asked surprisingly who made them and joked, "I might have to retire again next year just get some more of these biscuits.”

    My favorite picture at the party is of my coach and me enjoy the biscuits with happy laughter!

    Today Mr. Zhang, our English teacher, told us what to improve our English writing skills. The ability to write in English is becoming increasing important in English communication as well as in examinations. Thus, it was worth focusing our attention on.

    In order to write the good essay we should have an excellent command of over 2,000 frequently-used English word. It's necessary and useful for them to read or even recite beautiful English articles. Beside, as the saying goes, that "Practice makes perfect", so we should take every possible chance to write in English.

    According my personal experience, keep a diary every day is a good means to achieve the aim.

    When I grow up, I'll work with animals. Though I don't know exactly how I can do for the animals yet, I can at least to follow my brother. He is a excellent vet (兽医). He looks after frightened snakes. He says that snakes are easy to deal as they don't have any legs. My father, a scientist, works to save rarely birds, some of that are really clever and can even say some words. My mother train dolphins every workday. They practise in the pool. She hears the dolphins talk and sing. That sounds really cool! There are so many animal job to choose from, but which one is right for them? I'll have to wait and see!

We students have had many tests or exams. We have both achieved success and suffer from failure, but different students has different attitudes towards failure.

Some fall in low spirit when they don't do well in the exams. What's worse, some even lose their heart and no longer study as harder as before. However, most students take an active attitude on failure. They find out the causes so that they will avoid made the same mistake.

In my opinion, failure is the mother of success, that can teach us a lot in the process of reaching our finally goals. Only by tasting failure can we enjoy fruit of success.
