Once there lived two brothers. The elder was called Simon and the younger Victor. They1each other very much, and always took care of one another. Every day they worked from morning2night, getting as much grain(谷物) as possible from their fields.

    One late autumn evening, after their work in the3was done, Simon said to his wife, "Victor got married last month. He has many bills(账单) to pay. I think I will put a bag of rice in his barn(谷仓). “Oh, that's a good idea,” said his wife. “But please don't tell him,” said Simon, “If he knows I put the rice there, he will4take it.”

    So, late that night Simon took a bag of rice to Victor's barn. The next day, while looking at his own barn, he found5strange. “I took a bag of rice to Victor's house last night,6I still have the same number of bags in my barn.7did that happen?”

    Simon decided to take another bag of rice to his brother's barn that night. But the next morning, he found the8number of bags in his barn again! “This is very strange,” he thought. That night he9again. He carried a large bag of rice on his shoulder(肩膀); and walked down the road to his younger brother's house. In the bright moonlight, he could see another10coming down the road. He was carrying something on his11, too. “Younger Brother!” Simon cried, “What are you doing?” “I was 12you, Older Brother,” said Victor, “Your family is13than mine. I thought you needed more rice.” The two brothers quickly14that they had been taking rice to each other. They15what had happened. “It is good to have a brother like you,” they both said. And they lived happily ever after.

    For Pineda, it was a long way to succeed.

    His story began in El Salvador; where he was born with something wrong with his mouth. He had great 1 in speaking. At age 2, his family's house burned down. Pineda was hurt  2, and his legs needed to be cut. His mother died when he was 8, and he3years on the streets before he was taken in by an orphanage(孤儿院).

    Finally, at the orphanage, Pineda began to receive support and encouragement. He taught himself to play the guitar. He began his4with other musicians. Then the group went to Chicago, where Pineda, then 18, 5the attention of many people, who wondered what they could do to help him.

    A hospital offered him free medical care. A rich man agreed to6for Pineda's tickets to and from El Salvador.

    When he was in the hospital, Pineda began7music, and wondered if he might be able to record his own album(音乐专辑).Soon with the help of a musician, "The Sound of Gratitude(感激)" was born. On October 15^th, Pineda went to a Chicago club to8his new songs to strangers, and to the friends who had helped him come so far,

    It was 9that Pineda had come into such a good luck, after having so many years of hardship(艰难). "We have a 10 in El Salvador, 'Suffer(受难）first, then enjoy.' I guess that's what's happening. " he said.

    Shirley Temple was born in 1928 in California. She was a very lovely little girl 1 blonds curly hair (金色卷发). She was also a good actress.

    At the age of three, Shirley was 2 films and soon became a famous film star. When she was six years old, she made some successful films. 3 the time she was eight years old, she was making $500,000 a year. The people who made the films 4 her "Little Miss Miracle".

    For this little boy, it is a really cold winter. His father was in a car accident(车祸) and he 1 a leg. After that, his father became so sad. When the boy didn't do something well, the father would be2and beat him.

    One night, the boy passed a small shop on the street. He saw some beautiful boxes of3An idea came into his mind. He knew his father4coffee. Although he knew stealing(偷) was not good, all he could think of was his father's5He soon put a box of coffee into his jacket and ran back home.

    Many years later, the boy's mother called and said his father wanted to see him. He9because he was too busy. After a few weeks, he heard the10news that his father died. He found an old box of coffee in his father's room. On it was a piece of paper, saying, "The gift11my son". There was the letter:

Dear son,

    I'm not a good father. But I have a dream—to have a coffee shop, then I can make.12for you. I'm sorry I didn't keep my dream.

    The boy was very sad. He didn't meet his father for the13time. He decided to go on his father's14. He started a coffee business. His coffee business is15now. The name of the boy's coffee shop is Starbucks(星巴克). He is Howard Schultz.
