Mr Smith lived by the sea. He had a big family and he had to work hard, or  his wife and children would be{#blank#}1{#/blank#} . So he had to get up early every day. After breakfast he set out in a small boat. He always hoped to{#blank#}2{#/blank#} . 
     One morning the man got to a good place for fishing.  He threw a long rope with many hooks（钩子）into the water. He found it very{#blank#}3{#/blank#} and pulled the hooks out of the sea. He saw there were some gold chains（链子. He , of course, was very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} .

    Mr. Smith went on drawing his rope and didn't notice what was happening to his boat. It began to{#blank#}7{#/blank#} . As he was pulling the gold chains, the boat sank into the sea. He lost not only the gold chains ,but also {#blank#}8{#/blank#} !

An old man lived alone in his old house. He hardly ever went out．He wouldn't {#blank#}1{#/blank#}with others．One day， a little boy setting{#blank#}2{#/blank#}knocked (敲)at the old man's door .The door slowly opened. The boy suddenly had an idea．He had a dog sculpture， which did not mean much to{#blank#}6{#/blank#}．After a while，the boy returned{#blank#}7{#/blank#}a box．The old man shouted this time．"I told you no magazines!""I bring you a girl．"The boy {#blank#}8{#/blank#}the box and handed him the sculpture．The old man got{#blank#}9{#/blank#}because no one had given him a gift before．From that day on，the old man started going out of his house often．He and the boy because good{#blank#}10{#/blank#}．The boy even brought his pet dog to visit me old man every week．

    There are many ways to save the environment if you would like. In this passage, you can find some ways.

    Plant more trees. Choose a right ground{#blank#}1{#/blank#} your house or workplace. Unless there's any rule stopping you growing trees in that {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, go ahead and grow trees. Plant a tree every month and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} your friends and classmates to join you.     Walk more and drive less. Choose to walk {#blank#}5{#/blank#} than drive your car. Walk or ride a bicycle to work if it's not very far. Not only cycling but walking is good exercise. And each time you avoid using your car, you're doing something {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to cut down airpollution. You are saving fuel, saving money and keeping fit as well.

    Save water. Water {#blank#}7{#/blank#} very important for living things. It's we who use and pollute it. The simplest way to save water is turning {#blank#}8{#/blank#}water taps after use. When you visit a beach, make sure that you don't {#blank#}9{#/blank#} waste around. Do not pollute rivers by dropping garbage or other waste. Water is so precious, so we{#blank#}10{#/blank#} waste or pollute it.
