On October 17,2016 the Shenzhou-11 manned spaceship was sent into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in Gansu. Two days later the spaceship successfully connected with the space laboratory Tiangong-2. It meant China got closer to its plan of building a space station in 2020.

The spaceship took two Chinese astronauts to space this time. Jing Haipeng was an experienced astronaut who flew on Shenzhou-7 in 2008 and Shenzhou-9 in 2012. But it was Chen Dong's first space flight.

Jing and Chen were given a 30-day task on Tiangong-2. They tested new technology and did experiments to prepare for future space station tasks. The astronauts themselves were also the subject(对象) of those experiments. The life support devices(设备) they used and how they lived inside the space laboratory were studied. No Chinese astronaut had stayed in space for that long before.

A month-long space task was not easy, so Chinese scientists and engineers had come up with lots of new technologies to allow astronauts to stay more safely and more comfortably in space.

One of the new technologies tested during this task was a device called "space hospital". The space hospital was two little silver boxes tied around the two astronauts' legs. Through the "space hospital", scientists and doctors on the Earth could watch the astronauts' heart rate and temperature. When the astronauts felt tired, the "space hospital" could even massage(为……按摩) them.

After this task, China is expected to send an unmanned cargo spaceship(无人货运飞船) in mid-April next year. It will dock with Tiangong-2 and take new fuel to the space laboratory.

(1)、The spaceship docked with the space laboratory Tiangong-2 on _______.
A、October 17 B、October 19 C、November 19 D、November 20
(2)、How many times has Jing Haipeng been to space?
A、Once. B、Twice. C、Three times. D、Four times.
(3)、From this passage, we can learn that Jing and Chen stayed in the space laboratory for_____.
A、three days B、a month C、thirty-three days D、two months
(4)、What is the "space hospital" used for?
A、Protecting astronauts' safety B、Watching the astronauts' heart rate and temperature C、Massaging the astronaut D、All the above
(5)、Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?
A、China will build its own space station in 2020. B、In October, 2016 Chen Dong took his first space flight. C、The two astronauts themselves did experiments in space. D、In 2020 another cargo spaceship will take new fuel to the space laboratory.

Our village carpenter(木匠), John Hill, came one day and made a dining table for my wife. He made it just the right size to fill the space between the two windows. When I got home that evening, John was drinking a cup of tea and writing out his bill(账单)for his job.

My wife said to me quietly, “That's his ninth cup of tea today.” But she said in a loud voice, “It's a beautiful table, dear, isn't it?” “I'll decide about that when I see the bill,” I said. John laughed and gave me his bill for the work. I read:

One dining table                        10th November, 2011

      Cost of wood                  $17.00

      Paint                         $1.50

      Work, 8 hours($1 an hour)       $8.00

      Total                         $36.50

When I was looking at the bill, John said, “It's been a fine day, hasn't it? Quite sunny.”

“Yes,” I said. “I'm glad it's only the 10th of November.”

“Me, too,” said John, “you wait—it will be a lot colder by the end of the month.”

“Yes, colder—and more expensive! Dining tables will be $20 more expensive on November 30th, won't they, John?”

John looked hard at me for half a minute. Was there a little smile in his two blue eyes? I gave his bill back to him.

“If it's not too much trouble, John,” I said, “please add it up again. You can forget the date…”

I paid him $26.50 and he was happy to get it.
