Years ago, when Dad moved to the USA, I had to go to school in New York. I was worried.  How could I, an eight-year-old girl from 1, make friends in America?

    On my first day at Anna Silver School, I met Miss Green, my class 2. She spoke to me slowly and 3 to get me used to her American accent. When she discovered that I 4 drawing, she encouraged me a lot. Miss Green made sure that I could fit into her class easily, and before I knew it, I was already having 5 fun, just as other schoolgirls could.

    When Dad was sent back to India, I had to6 Anna Silver School.  I was 7 again Miss Green had planned to take us students for a 8 trip, but I had to say goodbye to them now.  So, with a 9 heart, I left my school and the USA.  Back in India, I received a package one day.  It was 10 Miss Green and my 24 classmates. They had written me a letter each, 11 me about the fishing trip. Miss Green said she 12 me very much. With her good wishes, she added, "Keep up with your drawing 13 you love it so much."

    I'm very 14 to Miss Green. She not only made a shy little 15 feel at home in a faraway country, but also taught me and my classmates to understand the importance of being kind to others at an early age.

    Tolstoy, the great Russian writer, liked to walk about in a railway station near his home.     Martin is a fifteen-year-old boy. He used to be a“problem child”, but a recent1with his mother changed his life. He didn't use to give his mother many problems.2, after his father's death a few years ago, Martin's life became3more difficult. His mother couldn't afford to pay for her child's education. To do this, she4work, and so was often not at home.

    His mother looked after him as5as she could. Unfortunately, Martin still caused problems. He was not6in studying and he often got in to trouble. Luckily, his mother was very7and didn't give up trying to help him. In the end, she8a difficult decision:to send him to a boys' boarding school. Martin hated it and used to cause a lot of trouble.

    One day, he told his teacher he wanted to leave the school. The teacher said it was necessary for Martin to9with his mother. Martin called his mother, but to his10, this phone call changed his life. “It was exactly11ineeded,”he said. “My mother helped me to understand how much she had given me. She also told me that even though my father was no longer with us, he was12me and would always take pride in every thing good I do. That's when I decided to change. I realize that13my father died, I have been afraid of being alone, and have tried to make my mother pay more attention to me. ”

    Now Martin has14changed. He has been working hard and is now one of the best students in his class. How was he able to change?His mother's15helped him to feel good about himself.

    Shirley Temple was born in 1928 in California. She was a very lovely little girl 1 blonds curly hair (金色卷发). She was also a good actress.

    At the age of three, Shirley was 2 films and soon became a famous film star. When she was six years old, she made some successful films. 3 the time she was eight years old, she was making $500,000 a year. The people who made the films 4 her "Little Miss Miracle".

    9 loved little Shirley. People sent her presents. On her eighth birthday, she got 1,000 cakes. Her fans sent her 5,000 10 a week. But her mother didn't spoil(溺爱) her. Little Shirley only got $4.25 a week and had to eat the spinach(菠菜).

    Hello, my friends! I'm back from my vacation. I went to a 1 with my parents. We 2 two weeks there. We lived in a hotel. Our room faced (面向) the sea, so we could see the sea at 3 time of day! There was a shopping street and many restaurants around. We bought many things and enjoyed lots of seafood (海味). I 4 something special for all of you.

    The 5 in the hotel were nice. They always answered our questions 6 a smile (微笑). They were very friendly. We had many kinds of food and drinks for 7. They were 8, so I ate a lot every morning.     My grandmother knew just 2to do that. She grew flowers with earth, water and love, so her back garden was filled with beautiful flowers. She would smile when she saw the 3shine down on them. In her front4she planted flowers, too. You could see red, white, and yellow flowers in it. My mom and I used to walk around them and 5their smells. Beautiful butterflies flew down on them. Grandma also cared for the wild flowers. She would  6 me and my brother out to pick flowers and would then turn them into delicious wine.

    Grandma not only planted flowers in the gardens but also planted flowers in our7. Her delicious dinners made with love encouraged us. Her sweet smile always made us 8. Her hugs (拥抱) and kisses were the sunshine that kept our own love 9day after day.
