     Long ago, an Ojibway Indian naming Wenibojo went on a long trip to the forest. When he got hunger, he dug up the roots of a bush and ate them. The roots were tasted good, but they made him sick. Wenibojo looked for everything better to eat. Suddenly he heard the sounds of ducks nearby. He followed the sounds from a beautiful lake, which the ducks were eating plants. Wenibojo tasted one. To his surprise, it was wild rice! He returned his village to tell the people there about the special food. Nowadays, the Ojibways still harvests rice, but only as many as they need. They always left some rice on the farm so that the ducks can eat.

    When I was at secondary school，I often played the football with my friends on the playground. We used to taking these games very serious，because we didn't know whether the sports teacher was watching. Maybe one of us would get pick for the school team! Then one day it happens. After a sports lesson the teacher asked me I wanted to play for the team the following Saturdays. He wasn't promising that I would play and he said I would certainly be a substitute. He felt so proud and exciting. I actually played that Saturday and soon got a regular place in the team.

    I know that the library is a wonderful thing but something we really should take advantage of. I go to the library near my home at least twice of a week in the past. However, because of my extreme busy schedule, it has been more than two year since my last library visit. How I miss the days I spent in the library read the books I loved! As you know, there is no friend so faithfully as a good book. I do enjoy the quiet atmosphere in the library, which makes me absorbing in my reading. This is time that I went to the library.     I'm glad that you will compete in the final of the Chinese Speech Contest. Congratulation to you! Here are my advice on how to make good preparations for your speech.

    First, pick a interesting topic so that the audience won't get boring. Second, do broad researches on the topic to satisfy the audience's hunger for knowledge. Then write your speech and turn to your Chinese teachers for help, which advice will be beneficial. Besides, much attention should be paying to your voice or body language. Try to speak as fluent as possible. In a word, you'd better do whatever you can win the contest.
