Last weekend our school held a sports meeting. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (realize) it was our last high school sports meeting, we decided to make {#blank#}2{#/blank#} an unforgettable experience for all of us.

    We first attended the opening parade, for {#blank#}3{#/blank#} our class had made a lot of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (prepare). To our excitement, our parade performance was a great success. After the parade, the games started. My classmates attended {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (vary) events such as running, high jump and long jump. Due to the hard training they {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (do) before, their performances were very {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (impress). On the stand, my classmates applauded and cheered for the athletes, some raising their cameras to capture the exciting moments. Finally, the result{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (announce). It was{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (amaze) that our class won the second place. Our efforts paid off! Cup in hand, we took a picture together.

    I believe this sports meeting will remain a precious memory for all of us {#blank#}10{#/blank#} time goes by.

    Over the years I have been teaching kids about a simple but powerful concept —— the ant philosophy ( 哲学 ), an {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (amaze) four part Philosophy.

    First, ants never quit. If they are heading somewhere and you try to stop them, they will climb over. They will climb under or climb around. They never quit {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(look) for a way to get where they {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(suppose) to go! Second, ants think about winter and summer. They are always gathering their winter food in the middle of summer and they are making{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(prepare) for the long cold winter. So you have to think about storms in summer and think about rocks{#blank#}5{#/blank#} you enjoy the sand and sun. Third, ants think about summer all winter. During the winter, they remind{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (they),” This won't last long and we will soon be out of here.” On {#blank#}7{#/blank#}first warm day, the ants are out. If it {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(turn) cold again, they will dive back down .But they come out again if it is warm. Last, how much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? All that it {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(possible) can. {#blank#}10{#/blank#}you can learn from the ant philosophy is: Never give up, look ahead, stay positive and do all you can!

    Chinese communities around the world welcomed the Year of the Pig {#blank#}1{#/blank#} February 5th. Celebrations took place across the globe, ranging from Southeast Asia's centuries-old Chinese communities to the more recently {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (establish) Chinatowns. In the streets of several European {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (city), performances of dragon dances and lion dances drew huge crowds of people. Celebrations in London are expected {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (last) a month with series of activities, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} is the biggest Chinese New Year celebration outside Asia.

    Since 1949 when the People's Republic of China {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(establish), and especially since 1978, China's transformation from a traditional {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（agriculture）society to a modern industrial society has been greatly accelarated by a rapid industrial restructuring. China's industrial structure developed according to the objective of industrialization, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} aimed at the proportion(比例)of agriculture declining ceaselessly, and the proportion of the industrial and service sector increasing continually. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(current), the industrial goods produced in China all range from capital goods to consumption goods.

    China's factory outputs extend from textiles (纺织业) to railway, planes and computers. China is the largest producer of inexpensive cotton textiles in the world and exports large {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(quantity) of textiles and clothes. Food processing is very important, and much farm produce is exported. Other industrial products {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(include)television sets, bicycles, cars, trucks and washing machines are expanding in the world.

    China has become {#blank#}7{#/blank#} industrialized country to some extent. The auto and the housing industry, in the process of industrialization have developed by leaps and bounds. The most important export products are machinery and electric equipment,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} the most important import products are raw materials. In recent years, China's industry{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(compete) internationally, and as a result, the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(develop)of the country's industry is increasingly influenced by international economic environments.

Dragon Heads­raising Day, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} falls each year on the second day of the second lunar month, is one of the Chinese traditional festivals. As the proverb goes, "The dragon is awake, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (raise) its head." On this day, dragons, a prominent totem (图腾) in Chinese culture raise {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (they) heads with the sound of thunder. Around this time, the earth {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (burst) with life. Grass and trees are beginning to shoot up. In ancient China, people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (pray) beside a river or a lake for the precious spring rain to breed their crops.

{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (tradition), food eaten on this day was renamed after parts of the dragon. For instance, wontons were called "dragon's eyes". The special {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (food) usually eaten on this day include dragon's scales, popcorn and pig's heads.

In Shanxi, people get their hair {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (cut) in a symbolic move to remove the old and embrace the new. In {#blank#}9{#/blank#} countryside in Hebei Province, people would fetch water from a well at dawn. It was believed {#blank#}10{#/blank#} on this day the well was full of dragon eggs which would bring the collector a good harvest.
