My husband and I were paying a visit {#blank#}1{#/blank#} my parents in Tucson. We went to a fast-food restaurant for dinner together. My husband went to the counter {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (order) dishes and I stood with my parents.

    My dad is 90 years old. He can hardly see very well and walks with a stick. I was scanning the restaurant, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (wait) to sit at the first table that was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (convenient) than others. A woman who was sitting with her son made eye contact with me and asked me to come to her. With a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(puzzle) look on my face, I pointed to myself and said , “Me ?” She {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (nod) and said, “Yes, you.” I walked to the table and she said, “Bring your family here. I can finish eating at the counter. My son is in {#blank#}7{#/blank#} hurry to leave anyway.” My eyes {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (fill) with tears as she wiped down the table and guided my dad to the seat.

    I always believe that there are {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (nature) kind people in this world. This woman has set a good example to her son, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is a really lucky guy.

    Laughter Yoga is a new form of exercise that promotes the use of laughter as a form of physical exercise. It {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (create) in the mid-1990s as a social experiment. Although it came from India and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (certain) includes some yoga, don't expect it to have much in common with the yoga classes {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (offer) at your local studio or gym. Laughter Yoga attaches {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (much) importance to the former than to the latter.

    The method began in 1995 when Dr. Madan Kataria called on a group of students in a park {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (test) whether introducing regular laughter into people's lives would improve their well-being. Kataria also introduced deep breathing and simple stretches into the exercises.

    Medical research has suggested that laughing is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} good way to reduce stress and help people feel good. Kataria's Laughter Clubs are popping up in response {#blank#}7{#/blank#} people's need to handle {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (press).

    Kataria also offers books and DVDs to people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} don't have access to a local Laughter Club. However, connecting with other humans is a big part of Laughter Yoga's success in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (help) people feel better and experience more joy.

Gift from A Stranger

My local supermarket is always busy. The first parking space I found was convenient. but I'd noticed a woman in a blue car circling for a while. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}I was in a good mood, I let her have it. On the edge of the car park I backed into the next available spot——it was a tight fit. Pretty soon I'd made my way through the supermarket and was back in the flesh air. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(feel)good, I emptied my purse change into the hands of a homeless man and{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(help)a struggling woman reverse park.

    Just as I approached my car, I saw the woman I'd let have my car spot earlier. She was giving me {#blank#}4{#/blank#}odd look——half intent(热切的), half puzzled. I smiled and wished her a pleasant day. As I squeezed back into my car, I saw the same lady{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(look)in at me. "Hello, "she said, hesitantly. "This {#blank#}6{#/blank#}sound crazy but I was on my way to drop some of my mother's things off at the charity bins. You are just so much {#blank#}7{#/blank#}her. You helped those people, I noticed, and you seemed so happy. "She looked at me{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(meaning)and passed a box in through the window. "I think she would like you to have it. "{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(shock), I took it from her automatically. She smiled and walked away.

    After a pause. I opened the box. Inside was a beautiful gold necklace with a large grey pearl. It was the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(nice)gift I'd ever received, and it was from a complete stranger. The necklace was around my neck, a warm reminder of human kindness.

    Our trip was fantastic. Every driver and every tour guide{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) knowledgeable, and tried to meet our interests and wishes. As Erich practiced his Chinese with them, they responded in English. The locations{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(select) by us were most interesting. Although I am not used{#blank#}3{#/blank#}sub-zero weather,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}was Harbin that I would recommend to any travel lover because it was so unique. All of the sights were unique with so much to offer. If we hadn't gone on the trip to Harbin, we would {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  (have) no chance to enjoy all the sights there then.

    The hotel accommodation was comfortable. We had one experience when the power went off in a block that contained our hotel, but{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(fortunate), the power was restored within a few hours. The restaurants were as unique as the areas{#blank#}7{#/blank#}we went and a Chinese cuisine was enjoyed by all four. Our guides made certain that our meal was ready and to our{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (tasty).

    If our son and daughter-in-law stay another year, we will discuss a repeat visit next year around the same time. As Erich and Caitlin are students at an in ternational university in Tianjin, the trip revolves around their academic schedules. We are quite pleased with the nice{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (serve) provided by the relevant people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(show) our friends and family we have taken lots of photos and videos.
