Joan is a nice girl. One day when she was taking a walk in the park, she saw a bird lying on the grass. Joan found that there was something wrong with its wing(翅膀) and it counldn't fly. She ran to the bird and{#blank#}1{#/blank#}  it up. Joan took it home. She looked after the bird very carefully. Soon the bird got better. Joan let the bird{#blank#}2{#/blank#} away.
   Now, the bird often {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to Joan's window. Each time the bird {#blank#}4{#/blank#} some food by Joan. It seems that the bird enjoys visiting Joan. For Joan, the bird{#blank#}5{#/blank#} her friend since she brought it home.

    One night, lots of people were running through the streets, shouting and throwing rocks. It was all about a soccer game. They were soccer {#blank#}1{#/blank#} and they were angry that their team had lost an important game. They went completely out of control

    It's common {#blank#}2{#/blank#} fans to get crazy. So many cities choose to put more police officers on the streets after big games. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} makes fans so crazy?

    Some experts believe it goes back to a long-ago time when humans lived in tribes (部落). These tribes {#blank#}4{#/blank#} each other for food, land and power (权力). You supported your tribe's warriors (武士) because your life {#blank#}5{#/blank#} on them.

    Today's“warriors” are athletes (运动员). Cheering for {#blank#}6{#/blank#} can bring out the same life-or-death feelings. That can be exciting and fun. It also {#blank#}7{#/blank#} problems if the strong feelings last (持续) hours or days after a game has ended.

    On the other hand, some people say that being a sports fan can make you a happier and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} person. Research shows that if you have a strong connection to a team, you might make strong connections with people. Many fans feel a sense of belonging to a group. They are less {#blank#}9{#/blank#} and have more enjoyable social lives.

    {#blank#}10{#/blank#} your favorite teams make you a bit crazy sometimes, it's only because you love them. And that's good — if you can remember that it's only a game.

    A man was walking through a forest. He was{#blank#}1{#/blank#} an axe in his hand. A little tree stopped him and said, "Please use your axe to cut down those{#blank#}2{#/blank#}trees, my friend. Because of them, the sunlight cannot fall on me, and I have no room at all to{#blank#}3{#/blank#}myself. Without them, I'll be the pride of this part of the forest. "

    The man decided to help the little tree. He used his axe to cut down the trees. Then the little tree had enough room. The little tree felt happy and said thanks to the man. When the Sun came out, the little tree{#blank#}4{#/blank#}water and it became very thirsty. Later when a storm came, the little tree lost all its leaves and branches(树枝).

    The driver waved to me with a gentle smile, seemingly saying: "Go buddy! You first!"{#blank#}1{#/blank#}a polite battle, I gave in and walked onto the crossing first.

    This took place nearly six months ago, but the scene still comes back to my mind{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Good road-crossing manners between driver and pedestrian(行人)mean{#blank#}3{#/blank#}, fewer accidents and most importantly, respect between people. I really hope that more Chinese people will realize this and make crossing the street {#blank#}4{#/blank#}for all the people.
