It was rainy last weekend. Amy and her parents couldn't go hiking(去远足), so they stayed at home. They were busy all day. Her mother cooked the meals for them and did the dishes(洗碗). Her father cleaned the room. He cleaned all the six rooms. Amy help them with the housework. They were very busy but very happy, because they all had lots of things to do.

    An old woman lived in the country. She had three sons. They were Kim, Mike and John.They left home to make money and became rich soon. This year they came back together on Mother's Day. Each of them had a gift for their mother.

    Kim bought a big and beautiful house for mum. Mike sent her a car. John's gift was a parrot that could speak to mum.

    Several days later, mum sent them letters of thanks:

    “Kim,” she wrote to one son, “ the house you bought is so large. I live in one room, but I have to clean the whole house.”

    “Mike,”she wrote to another, “I am too old to travel. I spend most of the time at home, so I don't use the car.”

    “Dearest John,”she wrote to her third son, “you really know what I like. The chick was delicious. Thanks.”

    Today is New Year's Day. It's cold and windy here. On New Year's Day, I go shopping with my parents in the morning. I buy some beautiful flowers for my grandparents. We visit my grandparents on New Year's Day every year. On New Year's Day, we have a big dinner together in the evening. My grandma makes a lot of yummy food. I also get a big toy robot from my uncle. The robot is super. I like it very much. Then I play the toy robot with my cousins. We're very happy
