Martin Strel swims with a knife {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (fasten) to his right leg—in case he meets sharks and other {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  (dead) sea life in the world's wildest waters. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} 61-year-old marathon swimmer has announced the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (tough) challenge of his life: a 10,000-mile-around-the-world journey on water {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (draw) public attention to the increasing water {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (pollute). He aims to circle the globe in about 450 days, passing through oceans, rivers,{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (canal) and other bodies of water in more than 100 countries. He will swim about 5 to 12 hours each day, depending on the weather. A boat will go {#blank#}8{#/blank#} him and offer emergency support and space for small breaks.

    Since 2000, Strel {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (swim) the entire length of five rivers in China, America, etc. Strel will not be alone in the water. He says he welcomes {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is interested in joining him for parts of the route.

Her life is bitter, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she often helps others with a smile. Whenever{#blank#}3{#/blank#} snows, she is always the first to clean the paths. She looks after several children {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (live) nearby. I am one of them. I often remember the stories she told us and her kind smile. Perhaps she is unlucky, but I think she is a happy person. Her life is full of{#blank#}5{#/blank#} （laugh）and love.

    But I'm sad to see some people getting their happiness {#blank#}6{#/blank#}bad ways. They talk {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（noisy）in cinemas and meeting rooms; they destroy trees to enjoy themselves and they laugh at others' shortcomings. Perhaps they feel happy at that time, but they will never get true happiness because they {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（lose）their personality already.

    Now I know {#blank#}9{#/blank#} happiness is. It means kindness, love and unselfishness. Above all, I have come to understand that bringing happiness to others {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (be) getting ourselves happiness.

    One day, I was comfortably waiting for my flight with a good book to read when {#blank#}1{#/blank#} elderly lady was wheeled to our waiting area. I noticed the trouble she was having {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (try) to open a packet of nuts with her shaking hands. No one else was willing to meet her gaze (目光), so I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (offer) to help. The lady was very grateful. We sat and chatted. The time came to board the plane. She could walk but needed some {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (assist), so I volunteered to help her and carry her bag.

    As I helped her get {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (settle), I noticed her “seat mate”, a businessman, looked a bit horrified at having to make the flight with her. He offered to change {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (seat) with me — and I agreed. We had a long chat. As we were entering another country we needed to fill out forms. I offered to fill {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (her) out because of her shaking hands. We landed and I needed to change planes, but I helped her first. The wheelchair she ordered was nowhere to be seen so we slowly walked to the gate {#blank#}8{#/blank#} her daughter was waiting.

    As a result, I had to run to catch my connection but, as I thought about the experience, I saw her {#blank#}9{#/blank#} my airport angel, a chance for me to hope that in the future when I'm in my eighties and traveling, someone will take the time {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (connect) with me.

    The astronauts will spend 30 days on the Tiankong-2. They plan to perform {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(science) and spacecraft-related experiments and test systems for a future space station. In{#blank#}2{#/blank#}words, the Tiankong-2 laboratory will not be part of that space station. Its main goal is to practice the techniques and the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(technology) that they will be{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(use)to build and operate that final space station.
