The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the Wonders of the Ancient World. It was {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  more than 4,000 years ago in Egypt. It is so {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  that millions of tourists from around the world come to visit it every year.

    In Egypt there are over 80 pyramids and the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} one is the Great Pyramid. It {#blank#}4{#/blank#} on the west bank of the Nile. In fact, all the pyramids along the Nile are on the west bank. The ancient Egyptians compared the rising of the sun to the beginning of life and the setting of the sun to the end of life. That is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} their dead bodies were buried(埋葬) on the west bank of the Nile.

    You can {#blank#}6{#/blank#} imagine how huge the Great Pyramid is. It has over 2 million blocks. Some are as heavy as five school buses. Although they were heavy, workers were {#blank#}7{#/blank#} to put a block into the pyramid every three minutes.

    The workers, Egyptian men and women, worked in teams. The teams had different {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. Some dug up the stones. Others moved them. Another team cut the stones. The last group put the stones into the pyramid. There were so many different teams, but the pyramid is perfect. No stone is in the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} position.

    But how did the Egyptians move those heavy stones to the top {#blank#}10{#/blank#} any modern machinery (机械) ? No one knows for sure. Many things about the Great Pyramid are still a mystery.

    Anna comes from Russia. She is 17 years old. She's going to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} with the Black family for a year. Anna comes to England {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she wants to study English.     Now Anna has got used to many things, but she can't get used to the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in England. "You English eat so much in the morning," she often says. "Fruits, porridge, eggs, tea and bread. How can you face {#blank#}10{#/blank#} that food so early in the day?"

    Now the idea of "car sharing (分享)"is popular around the world. That's to say,{#blank#}1{#/blank#}people are sharing the use of a car. Not everyone has a car. Think about it--although many families today have one car, a lot of them don't use it every day. Some {#blank#}2{#/blank#}stay in garages (车库)  most of their time. When we don't use them, we have to pay for parking (停车) and other things. That {#blank#}3{#/blank#}a lot of money. To save (节省){#blank#}4{#/blank#}, some people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the idea of " car sharing". If we share a car, we only pay when we use it. Now more and more people {#blank#}6{#/blank#}starting to do car sharing. In Switzerland, about 40,000 people are doing it. Car sharing is a new idea in transportation. It is also very {#blank#}7{#/blank#}for us to go everywhere without (不) buying a car.

    "Oh, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}little tree!" a bird said, "You shouldn't have asked the man to cut down the tall trees. The tall trees protected you{#blank#}2{#/blank#}you didn't worry about heat, wind and rain. Time went by and you have{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. When you get tall and strong, you can have enough{#blank#}4{#/blank#}to fight against the Sun and the storms. So I don't think you should do that.

    After hearing the words of the bird, the little tree felt regretful.

    It's different between western countries and eastern countries about how to keep healthy. Traditional Chinese doctors believe we need a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}of cool yin and hot yang to be healthy. In China, herbs(草药) are the main medicine but in western countries they use pills.

    In China, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}you are quiet and always tired, Chinese doctors might think you have too much yin. You should eat more hot yang food. It can give you some{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.But in western countries, doctors will check your body. They might give you some  pills to cure(治愈) your disease. People who are easily nervous and{#blank#}4{#/blank#}might have too much yang in their bodies. Chinese doctors believe they should eat more yin food.
