The knowledge from the experiments helped doctors to cure one of the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(bad)sicknesses for old people, and Parker was celebrated as a hero. Photos of the astronaut with a walking stick and no{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (tooth) spread all over the world. It showed  that persistent effort always brings reward, even though that reward may not be in the form we had first expected.

    What will life in the future be like? Will it be much better than it is now? And what will we be able to do in 10, 20 or 30 {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (year) time?

    Genetic engineering (基因工程) may help us make the perfect human. Babies may grow up {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (play) basketball like Yao Ming or look like Cecilia Cheung. Also, we may be able to bring the dead back to life. Maybe people will be able to meet and talk with their dead family members.

    Over the next 20 to 50 years, it will become harder to tell the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (different) between humans and machines.

    Perhaps we will be able to make copies of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (our), so we will appear to be alive long after we are dead. People may be able to find ways of putting the life of a person {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a new body.

    Xi'an celebrated the first-ever China Hanfu Day {#blank#}1{#/blank#} April 18. There were catwalk shows (走秀) and traditional music concerts which {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (hold) by people wearing traditional Chinese clothing. Hanfu fans from all over China gathered there to take {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (photo) and put them online for a Hanfu photo competition, which lasted until May 18.

    China Hanfu Day is on the third day of the third {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of the Chinese lunar calendar (农历), which is said to be the birthday of the Yellow Emperor. In ancient China, this day was also known {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Shangsi Festival (上巳节). Its purpose is to encourage young Chinese {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (take) pride in traditional clothing, as well as Chinese culture.

    Hanfu is the traditional clothing of the Han people who lived in China before the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of about 3,000 years and it {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (change) greatly so far. However, some of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (it) main characteristics (特点) remain. For example, there are two parts that overlap (交叠) on the front, which is called "jiao ling". Another main characteristic of Hanfu is that it usually uses ribbons (系带) instead of buttons.

    China is becoming a leading country in the world, and the Chinese public feels more confident (自信的) about its traditional culture {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ever before. Wearing traditional clothing might be an interesting way of showing {#blank#}10{#/blank#} they feel about this.
