The panda is one of the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (animal) most in danger. There are about 1,000 pandas {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (live) in nature reserves today. Zoos and research centers look after about 160 pandas. Scientists are studying {#blank#}3{#/blank#} they live and more baby pandas are born in the zoos.

    Pandas live in the forests and mountains of Southwest China. They {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (main) live on bamboo, and each panda {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (need) to eat a lot of bamboo every day. The area of bamboo is becoming {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (small) for many different reasons, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} pandas have less and less land to live on. Pandas don't have many babies, and baby pandas often die. The situation is becoming very serious.

    Our government is working hard {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (save) pandas. There are more than 30 nature reserves to protect pandas but these are not enough. The government has made a new plan to help pandas. The nature reserves will be bigger and the bamboo {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (grow) better. Then the pandas will have enough food to eat and enough places to live in. Pandas born {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the zoos may go back to live in the nature reserves.

    How much do you know about elephants? The elephant is one of Thailand's symbols. Their {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (one) flag had a white elephant on it. This is a symbol of good luck.

    Elephants are smart {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. They can play soccer or music. They can also draw very {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (good). People say that "{#blank#}4{#/blank#} elephant never forgets". Elephants can walk for a long time and never get {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. They can also remember places {#blank#}6{#/blank#} food and water. This helps them to live.

    But elephants are in great danger. People cut down many trees {#blank#}7{#/blank#} elephants are losing their homes. People also kill elephants for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (they) ivory. Today there {#blank#}9{#/blank#} only about 3, 000 elephants (over 100, 000 before). We must {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (save) the elephants and not buy things made of ivory.
