Are you worried about your spoken English? You can have a free talk in our club on Saturday and Sunday evening. There are some English teachers here too.

The Science and Technology Museum in Beijing Olympic Village is China's most important museum for science and technology. It was first opened in 1988 to further the scientific understanding and curiosity (好奇心) of its visitors. Each one of its four floors is full of exhibits, activities and experiments to lead every visitor into a world of wonder. Some of the areas of interest are aerospace engineering, transportation, machines, and the environment.

The museum has six exhibition halls, four special effects theaters, many labs, classrooms and lecture halls.

Rules to follow:

*No food or drinks.

*No pets (except guide dogs).

*No smoking.

*Children under 12 should always stay with adults.

*Dangerous things like knives or scissors are not allowed.

(Children under 1.2m and adults over 70 years are not allowed in the Theater.)

Subway Lines:

Take Line 8 to Olympic Park Station, get out from Exit G and walk north for 13 minutes.

Take Line 8 to the South Gate of Forest Park Station, get out from Exit C and walk south for 10 minutes.

Take Line 15 to Datun East Road Station, get out from Exit A1 and walk north for about 15 minutes.

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens is about a boy named Oliver Twist, who ran away from an orphanage (孤儿院) and met a gang of pickpockets (一伙扒手) in London. He lived a poor life and experienced many difficulties. The book shows us the sad fact of life in Britain in the 19th century.

When reading the book Little Women, you'll feel the power of women. The writer of it is Louisa May Alcott from the USA．The novel follows the lives of four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, describing their growth process (过程) from childhood to womanhood. It is mainly based on (根据) the writer and her three sisters.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is written by Mark Twain, a famous American writer. The story is about the strange behavior of Tom Sawyer, a young orphan boy living on the banks (河岸) of the Mississippi River. He happened to see a killing and then had to run away to an island. Finally he safely returned with treasures.

Self-driving cars

Robot taxis

Self-driving cars (无人驾驶汽车) or robot taxis will play a part. There'll be more than 30 million self-driving cars on the road by 2040. People don't need to drive by themselves. By 2050, there will be robot taxis in the city streets. We can call the taxis very quickly.

Buses

Public transport (公共交通工具) like buses will be highly personalized (个性化). People don't need to look through the bus timetable. Buses will be connected on the Internet and make the way by themselves according to (根据) where the people need to go.

Bikes

Bikes will be helpful and safe, too. Cities could build special roads for them high above city streets. Xiamen in southeast China already has an 8-kilometer bicycle way to protect riders like that. That may be another kind of transport in 2050. It will be wonderful.

The National Student Exchange is a study chance that allows you to take new courses, see new places, make new friends, and make new choices. You can study for a term or year at one of nearly 200 NSE member schools in the places listed below.
