Don and his son, Allen, love basketball very much. On Allen's {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (第十) birthday, Don decided to drive him to Chicago, for the first game of the World Championships. The car ride took them two hours. They had no tickets but hoped to buy two from other people.

    After arriving, they walked in the streets for two hours, carrying a sign which said, “We need two tickets.” But the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(最便宜的) ticket was $175 and they could not {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(买得起) it. They were about to leave when a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(陌生人) stopped them. He {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(拉; 拖) out two tickets and handed them to Don. “How much do you want?” “Free ! No money is needed!” said the man.

    When asked, the man explained. “I am working for Joe, who hasn't {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(错过) a World Championships for 16 years. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(但是), he is ill and he can't make it this time. So he told me to give the two tickets away. The only rule he set is to give the tickets to people who really needed them. A lot of people looked as if they might just take the tickets and sell them quickly. Then I saw you. You remind me of my dad and myself when I was a child. I really wanted to go to see a World Championships game at that time. But I never got the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(机会).” With the tickets, we entered the court {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(高兴地).

    It's an important and unforgettable game that Don and his son watched! Here is what Don said, “It's{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (值得的) remembering it. My boy and I must have turned to each other 30 times duringthe game. I can't forget that night.”

    One day a man bought a lot of coconuts（椰子）and put them all on his horse. He was moving them to his {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(friend) house. On the way, the man met a boy.

    "How long would it take to get to the house?" he asked the boy.

    "If you go{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (slow)," the boy said, "you will get there very soon. But if you go fast, it will take you all day."

    "What a funny reply!" said the man. He did not listen to the boy. He made his horse run as fast as possible. Some coconuts fell off. He had to stop{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(pick)them up. Then he made his horse run fast again. But the coconuts fell off again, and he{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(stop) again.

    He did this many{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (time), and it was night when he finally got to the place.

    My family members have a close relationship because our family has some rules.

    Family dinners

    My mother makes it {#blank#}1{#/blank#} rule that everyone should sit down at the table and have dinner together. I think this is one of the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(easy) and most important rules to have as a family. Eating meals together{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(create) a sense of belonging（归属感）. What's more, keeping the habit will add to everyone's enjoyment.

    Night-time routine

    Although it is hard for us {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( keep )this routine(常规；惯例) at first, it has turned out to be a good habit. After dinner we usually have our playtime, and then 7:00 p.m. is bath time; 7:30 p.m. is time to have some milk; and my mother reads a story{#blank#}5{#/blank#}7:50 p.m., and then I go to bed. This routine makes me {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (wake) up early in the morning and helps me feel {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (relax) at school.

    Cleaning up

    Cleaning up is a family matter. After dinner we help{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (we) parents to clean up the kitchen and clear everything off the table. After this, we {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(ask)to clean up everything that we were playing with in the daytime. So we won't step on hard or wooden {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(toy) when we get up the next morning.

    On his birthday Martin got a book from his father. He felt {#blank#}1{#/blank#} sad {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he didn't talk too much. His father noticed this and said, "Cheer up, Martin! It's a magic book. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} you want to find out its magic, you'll have to read it."

    Well, that was good. Martin liked everything to do with magic. He started reading it, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} he wasn't very interested. The next morning, his father asked him, "Have you found the magic key?"

    "No. I turned the pages of the book quickly, but there was no sign of the key." Martin replied. His father said, "You won't find the magic out {#blank#}5{#/blank#} you read the book carefully."

    Martin wasn't patient (有耐心的) enough, and he stopped reading the book. One day his sister asked him for the book. She wanted to read it. Several days later, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the girl finished the book, she happily shouted, "I've found it, the key of the magic book!" So Martin started to read the book again. At first it was a pain (痛苦). But, gradually (逐渐地), Martin got interested in the adventurous (有冒险精神的) Prince's life. Then, suddenly, he was there. The book itself was the key! Whenever he opened it, he felt he was taken to (被带到) its mountains and seas.
