    Use your notebooks

    The brain is able to finish great works, but it is not a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} perfect. Students should never rely on it to remember all school details.When a teacher assigns homework,students should write the details in their notebooks.According to Whitehead,to make them effective,students n{#blank#}3{#/blank#} to remember to take the note books out of the school bags at night,open them up,and read over the night's list.

    Remove distractions(使注意力分散的事物)

    Computers on, music on, text messages receiving······Whitehead says if students aren't doing research,they should turn off all the above electronics,and focus on the task at hand for a set period of time.They'll find that it is e{#blank#}4{#/blank#} to concentrate and that homework takes less time.

    Think actively

    Getting homework done is the name of the game,but what happens if students are struggling with a question or  can't work out an answer?When facing difficulties, it is wise for the student to take a small break, then r{#blank#}5{#/blank#} to look at the problem again.

    Get organized

    Homework is often the most disorganized part.Whitehead recommends,"Students should keep all the homework-related things in a bin, so they don't waste time s{#blank#}6{#/blank#} for pens or rulers." He also recommends picking the same place to do homework every night, and （when possible）completing homework at a c{#blank#}7{#/blank#} time each day.

    Something changed a few years ago. Around 2012, teens started to spend their time much differently from the generation before. I started to notice big difference in teen's b{#blank#}1{#/blank#}and attitudes in the yearly survey of 11 million young people.

    A 2017 survey found that two out of three U.S. teens owned an iphone. For this reason, l call them iGen (iphone generation).

What makes iGen different?

    Growing up with a smart phone has affected nearly every aspect of their lives. They spend so much time on the internet, texting friends and on social media, an average of about six hours per day, so they have less free time for everything else. That i{#blank#}2{#/blank#}going to parties, shopping at the mall or watching movies with their friends. These were o{#blank#}3{#/blank#}the favorite activities of most teens. But now iGen teens are taking part in these social activities at lower rate than others.

    A link that should be noticed

    I wondered if these changes might be c{#blank#}4{#/blank#}to their deteriorating(退化）mental health. Sure enough, I found that teens who spend more time on screens are less happy and more disappointed. Meanwhile, a 2017 study asked some adults to give up Facebook felt happier, less l{#blank#}5{#/blank#}and less disappointed during the week as they had more free time for social activities like meeting friends, watching movies,etc.

    What else is lost?

    Spending less time with friends means less time to develop social abilities. A 2016 study showed that the sixth graders who spent just five days at a camp w{#blank#}6{#/blank#}using screens ended time better at reading expressions on others' faces.

    That isn't to say that iGen teens don't have a{#blank#}7{#/blank#}. They are physically safer and more tolerant (宽容). They also seem to have a stronger work spirit and more realistic expectations. To my surprise, the iGen teens I interviewed said they preferred seeing their friends in person to communicating with them using their phones.

    But it might be just what iGen needs.

    "WeChat" is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} new mobile communication tool. It supports sending voices, videos, photos and text {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. You can also do group chats, or you can find new friends nearby to talk to.

    Wherever they are, people can also find a "stranger" to talk to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} shaking the phone. The system will find out others who are shaking their phones at the same time. Another {#blank#}4{#/blank#} function (功能) is that WeChat can make us {#blank#}5{#/blank#} for people who live nearby, and show the distance. I like this function best {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it can help you to find more people who you may know.

    Recently, I read news that some stupid girls met guys by shaking their cell phones and some {#blank#}7{#/blank#} incidents (事件) happened after they met. So I suggest WeChat users should learn to protect {#blank#}8{#/blank#} and not trust strangers so much.

    Technology has already made life become {#blank#}9{#/blank#} and more comfortable, and at the same time it {#blank#}10{#/blank#} us some disadvantages. Therefore, being careful is necessary.
