    The Double Ninth Festival is a traditional (传统的）Chinese festival. It usually comes in October or November. On this day，people always wear the zhuyu (茱萸）plant. They usually climb mountains. Sometimes they go to see flower shows. The Double Ninth Festival is a festival for old people. People usually visit their parents and grandparents on this day. They often eat Double Ninth cakes together.

    A man is going to the house of a rich man. He sees a box of good apples by the road. He says," I don't want them, because the rich man will give me a lot of good food." Then he takes the apples and throws them into the dustbin (垃圾桶).

    He comes to a river. The water in the river is very deep and he can't get across (穿过) it. He says to himself, "I can't go to the rich m an' s house today." So he goes home.

    He has nothing to eat the day. He is very hungry, so he comes to the apples.

    Don't throw good things away, you may be glad to have them sometimes.

    Lydia wants to know the way to her new school when she comes out of the station. It is not very difficult. Lydia should turn left and walk until she reaches the traffic lights. Turn left again. She will be on Nanjing Road. Keep walking until she comes to a supermarket. Just behind the supermarket, there is a street. The school is about 30 meters down this street on the right.

    I'm Jason. I'm a strong boy. My favourite day is Tuesday. I have Chinese and PE and I have sandwich for lunch. Sandwich is my favourite food. It's delicious and healthy for me. My favourite teacher is Mr Liu. He is our PE teacher. He is tall and strong. He is twenty-two years old. He is kind, but sometimes he is strict. His class is so much fun. I like him very much. On the weekend, I often play football and clean my room. I'm helpful.

    Mr Brown is a pilot. On Sunday morning, he takes Mike and Jone to a plane. He opens the door of the plane and lets the children in. Soon, the plane begins to go up. Mike looks out of the window and says, “Wow, we are like the birds in the sky!" Then he looks down at the houses, they are like the small toy houses. John looks at the streets and sees the buses, they look like small toy buses, too. All the people on the ground are very, very small.

    When the plane comes down and down and down, the houses, buses and people become bigger and bigger. Mike and John have great fun on the plane, they both feel excited because it is the first time to take a plane. And Mr Brown is very happy, too.
