Harry is an American boy. He is 1.65 metres, he is taller than his friend Mike. And Harry is 56 kilograms, he is heavier than his brother John. Last week, he came to Datong. On Monday, he went to Yungang Grottoes(云冈石窟) and took many pictures. On Tuesday, he visited Datong Ancient City(大同古城) and ate Sliced noodles(东方削面). He went to Mountain Heng and visited the Hanging Temple(悬空寺) on Friday. He bought some presents(礼物) for his parents, too. Last winter holiday he went to Beijing and Shanghai, but he thinks his favourite city is Datong. He loves Datong, do you love your hometown Datong?

Elephants are very large animals. They eat only plants. Baby elephants drink milk from their mother up to three years. Elephants like to live in groups. Some stay with their family even when they grow up. A family group has two to eight animals. Elephants are very big and heavy, but they are very good swimmers. They are very strong, too. They can do many things with their long trunks(象鼻), they are helpful. 

In the past, there were many elephants, but now there are fewer and fewer(越来越少). People hunt them for their tusks. They use them to make ivory products(象牙制品). In Thailand, people use elephants to carry heavy things, and they also train(训练) them for a show. Many elephants hurt badly or die because of the training. In 2003, there were only about 30, 000 Asian elephants in the world. To protect elephants, we shouldn't buy ivory products. We shouldn't watch elephant shows.

Mrs White is our English teacher. She is like a superwoman in our hearts. We all love and thank her very much. She is thin and not tall. And she's very hard-working. She often helps students with both study and life. She is happy when she stays    with her students.

At home, she is not only my mother but also my best friend. When she comes home after work, she helps me with my homework. I know she is tired (疲劳的), but she always gives me a smile.

Mrs White is my role model (榜样)! She's a helpful teacher and a wonderful mother. I love her very much! And I want to be like her when I grow up!
