Every Sunday morning，I take a jog（慢跑）around a park near my home. There＇s a lake in one corner of the1 . Each time I jog by this lake, I see the2 woman sitting by the lake with a small metal cage（金属笼）beside3 . 

Last Sunday，my curiosity（好奇心）got the better of me，4 I stopped jogging and walked over to her. As I went5 ,I found that inside the metal cage were three turtles, slowly walking around.  She had a fourth turtle in her lap（大腿）that she was6 brushing. 

"Hello,why are you always sitting here?"I said. "And I'd love to know7 you're doing with these turtles. "

She smiled and replied， ＂T＇m 8 their shells（龟壳）. Anything on a turtle＇s shell， like algae or scum, stops the turtle from swimming. It is also9 for the shell over time. It's my own way of making a10 . 

"Wow! That's really nice of you! But there are11 living in lakes all around the world. And hardly any of these turtles have people kind enough like you to12 them. So how exactly are you13 that you can make a change?" I questioned. 

The old woman14 at the turtle in her lap, brushed the last piece of algae from its shell. She then15 warmly and said, "Sweetie, if this little one could talk, he'd tell you I just changed his whole world. "

Hello, I'm Nina. I come from America. I am in Shanghai now. I am a new student in Class Five, Grade Seven in a junior high school. I am very different from the students here. But my teachers and classmates are nice to me. 

This is my classroom. Can you see my desk? A schoolbag is in it. It is purple. Five textbooks and a pencil-box are in it. The pencil-box is purple, too. It is my favorite color. A green jacket is in my desk, too. It is not mine. It is my friend, Andy's. Where is my gray jacket? I can't find it. Oh, it is under Bob's desk. Bob is next to me. He is my friend, too

I like my life in China. 

This year, I'm pushing myself to accept new things. Recently, I1 eating out alone. Asa socially anxious(焦虑的) person, I had always found this hard. 

I walked into the restaurant completely alone: no phone, no book, nothing to draw or write with. It was just me and my wallet. I took the time to read the menu 2 . I paid attention to how everything was made. I was still nervous and I thought to myself, "What better comfort food is there than a classic burger and fries?"

 The moments after I ordered were the 3 part of the experience. Waiting for my food with nothing to look at or read felt uncomfortable. I kept worrying about what other people were thinking. I 4 at everyone else in the restaurant and tried to calm down. 

 As I became more relaxed, I discovered ways to find 5 in the experience. In such a busy world, we seldom take a second for ourselves. Eating alone gave me a chance to enjoy ourselves. It pushes me to stop and be present in the moment.
