In fact, plants are not always silent. So far, a recent study{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (find)plants shout when they are in need of water or having their stems cut. "Even in a quiet field, there are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (actual)some sounds that carry information. However, the pitch(音高) is too high for people {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (hear)," said Lilach Hadany, a professor from Tel Aviv University. The researchers used microphones to record some tomato plants and found that stressed plants send out {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (many)sounds than unstressed plants. "When tomatoes are not stressed at all, they are very quiet," Professor Hadany said. They also trained a machine in telling the differences{#blank#}6{#/blank#} thirsty plants and cut plants. The result shows that{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the causes of stress change, they shout differently. After {#blank#}8{#/blank#}team recorded many kinds of other plants, they found that many plants like corn, wheat and grape plants send out sounds when they are under stress, too.

"There is a possibility{#blank#}9{#/blank#} a lot of communication is happening," Professor Hadany said. " Because other{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (plant) can probably hear the call of the stressed plants. "

Sound recordings of plants could bring humans lots of advantages especially in farming. For example, people will make sure whether corn is getting enough water or where water is needed most without much difficulty. .

With a habit of drinking coffee on weekends while doing schoolwork, Wu Zibo, a 17-year-old student from Beijing No. 4 High School, wanted to order a cup of Moutai-flavored latte(茅台味拿铁). "I wonder how my father's favorite Chinese liquor(白酒) would taste with my favorite coffee." Wu said.

The collaboration(合作) between Moutai and Luckin Coffee has interested many people. It sold 5.42 million cups and made 100 million yuan just on Sept 4, the first day it came out, China Daily reported.

Moutai has tried many ways in the past few years to be more creative, such as by bringing out Moutai ice cream.

In 2023 China's collaboration market will grow to over 100 billion(十亿) yuan and may reach 300 billion yuan by 2025. However, wrong collaborations may have undesirable results and even hurt brands.

"The key to making a collaboration work is about how good the products are. The brands should not just pay attention to getting the public excited." said Li.
