We can find stone everywhere. Stone is usually very hard, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} it can be soft. Stones have many uses.

In ancient times, people carved (雕刻) small persons or animals out of soft stones which could be carried along with. While in some {#blank#}2{#/blank#} countries, statues (雕塑) are carved from hard stones and they do not change easily. In summer, the hot sun {#blank#}3{#/blank#} on these statues and in winter the snow falls on them, but they still remain beautiful.

Stone is strong and long-lasting. So, it is good enough for different houses. Houses built of stone do not catch fire as easily as ones made of wood. Some stones are colored, so they make the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} look wonderful. People can also get a fire {#blank#}5{#/blank#}stones to make food.

 At 6:00 am on any day in December, it is still dark in the village of Yuanbao in Guizhou Province. But Wu Yujie is already playing soccer {#blank#}1{#/blank#} her teammates at the playground. The girls train for about four {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (hour) every day. Xu Zhaowei is the soccer teacher.
