My friend, James, has a dream, he hopes that one day he can have a trip to the  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(宇宙) because he wants to know what the space is like. He wants to be an  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(宇航员). He wants to know the feeling of staying in an  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(环境) with no air. But he knows it is not an easy thing, after  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(交流) with his father, he finds he has lots of things to do. He needs not only a good knowledge about space but also a  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(强壮的) body. Now, he has a plan to realise his dream. First of all, in order to know more about space, he will join a science  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(群; 组). Then, he will make a  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(运动) plan. He has  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (从不) been very active and he doesn't like playing at all. But this time he  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(决定) to change himself. He believes that nothing is  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(不可能的) if he tries his best.

Sixteen years ago, I learned an important life 1 at the back of a New City taxi. 

I was on my 2 to Grand Central Station, and we were driving in the right way when a black car 3 sped out of a parking space right in front of us. 

My driver hit the brakes hard, and 4 the other car by a few centimeters. The driver of the other car, the man who had just nearly caused a huge accident, started 5 at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved his hand. He was really 6 ! 

"Why did you just do that?" I asked him, "This guy almost destroyed your car and could have 7 us to the hospital! " This was when my taxi driver told me about 8 I now call " the Law of Garbage Trucks (垃圾车)". 

"Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of 9 and full of disappointment," he said. " As their garbage is getting more and more, they need a place to dump (丢弃) it, and if you let them, they'll dump it on you. So when someone wants to dump garbage on you, just 10 , wave your hand, wish them well, and move on. You'll be 11 because of what you have done. "

I started thinking, how 12 do I let garbage trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and dump it on other people—at work, at home, or on the street? It was on that day that I said, "I'm not going to dump my garbage 13 . "

Successful people do not let garbage trucks influence them. What about you? If you let more garbage trucks pass you by, you'll be happier. Life is too short to 14 in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right. 15 the ones who don't. 

One afternoon, I went to pick up my mother from work. I got there a little early, so I stopped my car by a small park and waited for her in the car. 

As I looked outside the car window, I saw a little boy, around two years old, running freely on the grass as his mother watched him from a short distance. The boy had a big smile on his face as if he had just been set free after being indoors for too long. He would then fall to the grass, get up, without even looking back at his mother, run as fast as he could, again, still with a smile on his face, as if nothing had happened. 

At that moment, I thought to myself "Why aren't adults this way? "Most adults, when they fall down, make a deal of it and don't even make a second attempt (尝试). They would be so embarrassed that they would not ty again if someone saw them fall. Or, because they fall, they would find a good excuse for themselves that they are not fit for it. They would end up too afraid to attempt again for fear of failure. 

However, with kids, when they fall down, they don't consider their falling as a failure. Instead, they treat it as a learning experience. They try again and again until they succeed. The answer must be that they have not connected "falling down" with the word "failure". As a result, they are not discouraged in any way. Besides, they probably think to themselves that it is quite okay to fall down and it is not wrong to do so. In other words, they allow themselves to make mistakes, so they remain energeti C. 

I was deeply impressed by the boy's persistence and the manner in which he did. 

I am Sandy Brown. Tony, Mary and I are in the same class. They are brother and sister but they don't like the same food.

 Mary doesn't want to be fat. So, for breakfast, she only has an egg and a cup of milk. For lunch, she has some vegetables and rice with her friends. For dinner, she likes fruit salad. She likes ice- cream and hamburgers, but she doesn't eat them. She thinks they can make her fat.

 What about Tony? He likes sports very much and he plays volleyball well. He always has a big breakfast: two eggs, some milk and salad. For lunch, he likes chicken, a hamburger and some rice. After school, he plays volleyball with his classmates. So he is hungry in the evening. He likes some vegetables, two hamburgers and some fruit for dinner.

John, a famous musician, took his priceless violin and played it in the crowded subway station. The music from the violin was in the wind throughout the whole station. However, during the one-hour play, only six or seven people were truly 1 the music. A three-year-old kid was so2 in the music that he forgot everything around. John only got 52 dollars for his work that day. 

However, in3 days, when John is about to hold a concert, one ticket can be sold at more than 100 dollars, and it is really 4 to buy a ticket even at such a high price.5 later, many passers-by in the station that day for not recognizing the famous musician and missing such a.6 but cheap music feast (盛宴) . 

I have a very busy friend called Charles. He had totally7 after knowing that his wife came down with an illness that cannot be 8 , and she couldn't live long. He cooked by himself for the family and took a walk with his wife every day. But even so, his wife still didn't 9 the illness and passed away. After that, he often sighed. Due to his past busy life, he had missed a lot of 10 time with his wife. But now, it is impossible to 11 for it. 

But it is no use crying over spilt milk. In our life, we have missed a lot of precious things without knowing to 12 them. The reason is less than simple; we had thought that we could 13 own them tomorrow. 

There was a famous-Buddhist mook saying that in many people's lives, they have only done two things: waiting and regretting. The result is that they were always too late to cherish what they had before they lost it. We would often expect to do 14 when we grow up, or when we have money or when we become old, etc. However, when we reach the 15 we have expected, we could no longer realize our wish, because we have lost it by then

Every year, on January 5th, the city of Harbin in northeast China changes into a winter wonder- land. Tourists from all around the world come to visit this wonderful ice and snow festival. 

The festival started in 1963 and began as a winter party. The festival often lasts for one month. However, if the weather stays cold and dry, it will go on for a few more days. Temperatures are usually very cold. They can go down to –17℃. 

Ice sculptors (雕塑家) use different tools to carve (雕刻) the hard ice and snow. These sculptors display (展示) their works in two main areas. "Sun Island" has huge snow sculptures (雕塑) of people and animals. "Ice and snow World" has sculptures of buildings. At night, these buildings light up with colorful lights. 

Visitors can do a lot of other activities, such as skiing and ice sliding. They can also go swimming in the icy waters of Songhua River.
