There are many festivals around the world. Dads have Father's Day. Mums have Mother's Day. But do our grandparents have a 1 ? Yes, they do.

The Double Ninth Festival is a 2  day for old people in China. The festival is on lunar September 9th. On this day, people show 3  and respect (尊敬)for their grandparents.

Respecting old people is a tradition in China. There are many ways for Chinese people to 4 their respect. When an old person enters a room, everyone should stand up. Also, people are introduced from the 5 to the youngest. When we give something to an old person, two hands are used. The old usually don't have to buy tickets for buses and young people always 6 their seats to old people on a crowded subway or bus.

However, in western countries, old people have 7 lifestyles from those in China. They don't often live with their children—they live 8 . They don't want to get help from 9 . They even don't want to be offered seats by others.

Westerners still respect old people. For holidays, families usually 10 at the grand-parents' homes. A great smile and a warm hug are enough for grown children to show their respect.

The Taojinshan Greenway in Shenzhen has been open to citizens since July, 2019, Sitting at the west side of Shenzhen Reservoir, it is as long as 7.07 kilometres.

With plants along both sides and lakes lying at different sites, tourists can enjoy the beauty of nature all the way. If they are tired, they are free to take a rest at the 3 stops. Besides, five unused guard posts(岗亭) along the old route have remained. They are sightseeing platforms for visitors to feel the culture behind the place.

Of all its 13 scenic spots, 8 had AI helpers. From them, visitors can gain information on parking, tour guide services and more. The smart greenway, with free Wi-Fi, also provides environmental date, such as temperature, wind speed and air quality. What's more, it can give visitors warnings of coming extreme(极端的)weather and natural disasters, including rainstorms and typhoons that may hit Shenzhen.

"Started in the middle of 2015, the building process of the Taojinshan Greenway has taken good care of the wildlife and environment nearby," said Yang Shiming, an official in charge of the project.

 (建筑) projects without doing harm to nature. It also shows the role that technology plays in building a smart greenway for more life convenience.

The third one is the Hangzhou national Tea Museum, It's a relaxing and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (peace) place near a lake, The tea art performances show people {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to make a perfect cup of tea with beautiful tea sets. Watching the tea preparation is just as enjoyable as drinking the tea {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (it). You'll finally realize why so many people loves drinking tea and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (collect) tea sets.

Are you shy? If you are, you are not alone. In fact, nearly 50% of people are shy, and almost 80% feel shy at some point in their lives. Why are people 1 ?

It is found that family size might 2 people to be shy. Children with no brothers and sisters may be shy. Growing up 3 , they often play by themselves. They are not able to develop the same social skills as children from big 4 . 

Another cause of shyness could be 5 . As more and more people use the Internet, they 6 less time outside, talking to people. As a result, they lose practice at conversation. 7 to new people face to face can make them feel nervous.

Could you imagine being in a car driven by a computer, not a human? Recently, China has made a big step toward self- driving technology. Since August, driverless taxis can run on roads in Wuhan, Chongqing and Shenzhen. 

Why do we develop self- driving cars? Self- driving cars have many advantages. They use computers with many cameras which can sense all the objects close to the car and give the computers another route (路线) . Then the car can take people to the place where they want to go. For disabled or blind people, self- driving cars can also help them get around more easily. 

According to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year, more than 1. 35 million people are killed on roads around the world. It's reported that self- driving cars could reduce road accidents by 90 percent. The main cause of car accidents is human error (错误) . By using computers, self- driving cars don't make poor decisions or lose attention like humans do. 

But self- driving cars aren't perfect. If something unexpected on the road happens, self- driving cars can't react as fast as a human driver can. Also, during weather events like heavy snow, self- driving cars wouldn't see the lines on the road easily. It might lead to an accident. The car's computer system would be broken by someone, causing it to crash or change its direction. 

It's clear that there is a lot of work to do to make self- driving cars a common and safe sight on our roads. And China is taking the lead in making this happen. 

France is well­known for its fine art, tasty food and beautiful scenery(风景). So about 75 million visitors come here every year. 

France is the largest country in Western Europe. It has a population of over 66 million. There are many famous places of interest in France, like the River Seine as well as the Eiffel Tower. 

Many visitors also come for the country's art. If you visit France today, it is not a surprise to meet street artists in the city or come across a singer in the subway. 

No visit to Paris is perfect without a trip to the Louvre, one of the largest and most famous museums in the world. Inside, there are 35，000 works of art, such as the painting Mona Lisa by Da Vinci and the statue(雕塑) David by Michelangelo. It would take nine months to enjoy all works of art. 

French food is also world­famous. Bread is very important in France. The best known French bread is called a baguette(法棍面包). It's long and delicious and tastes salty. Snails(蜗牛) are also a must­have here.  French people eat 40，000 tons of snails every year! 

But France is not always good. Paris, the city of light, may also show its dark side to visitors. Chinese visitors feel sorry about the crowded subway in Paris.
