People usually eat traditional food on special festivals. A special day in China is the Laba Festival. This festival falls on the eighth day of the 12th lunar month. On that day, people souse(腌) Laba garlic(蒜) . Here is one way to make it.

First, p{#blank#}1{#/blank#} the garlic and put it into a clean bottle.

Then, a{#blank#}2{#/blank#} some salt and sugar. M{#blank#}3{#/blank#} them together and so use for 30 minutes.

Next, cook some rice vinegar for 5 minutes and p{#blank#}4{#/blank#} the rice vinegar into the bottle of garlic.

When it is r{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, seal (密封) the bottle. The garlic will turn green in about 5 days.

Now, you can enjoy it with other food, such as dumplings and noodles.
