Invitations are important. They help us make and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} good relationships.

When people {#blank#}2{#/blank#} an invitation to a dinner or party, they will ask what they can bring. People often take {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, chocolates (巧克力), or a bottle of wine (酒) to say "thank you". People {#blank#}4{#/blank#} take a birthday present to a birthday party. Teenagers and children often {#blank#}5{#/blank#} some candy, cookies or computer games to share with {#blank#}6{#/blank#} friends. Teenagers also take CDs of their favorite kinds of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} with them.

Most people call the host to say "thank you" {#blank#}8{#/blank#} a dinner or birthday party. Some people write a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} thank-you letter or send an e-mail to the host.

When we can't accept an invitation, it is necessary {#blank#}10{#/blank#} why we can't go, for example, we have another invitation at that time or on that day, or that we have {#blank#}11{#/blank#} important appointment (约会) with someone else.

Is there anything in your community that could be changed? Is there a person in your neighborhood who could offer help? If you're hoping for someone to make a difference, that someone could be you! {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. And you'll feel good about doing something that helps people or improves the places around you. 

Last summer, my friends and I noticed how messy our neighborhood park was. We wanted it to be different. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . We had a great time making the park even better than before, and now the whole neighborhood is able to share and enjoy it again. 

Maybe cleaning up a park isn't your choice, though. No problem! {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Do you like playing chess, reading or spending time with your pet? You can volunteer to do what you love. For example, you could help at an old people's center, simply by talking or playing games with them to make their days better. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, you could volunteer to be a homework helper at your school. You're always needed to walk dogs or play with cats. Or you can collect things for homeless people, such as soap and toothbrushes. 

You see, there is something for everyone. Whatever you do as a volunteer, your time will be enjoyed and that always feels good. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. You can, too!

Do you like to travel? Which transportation (交通方式) do you like {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (good), by car, by train, by ship or by plane?

The fastest way of travelling is by plane. With{#blank#}2{#/blank#} plane, we can travel in one day to places which took us a month or longer {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(get) to a hundred years ago. 

Travelling by train is {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(slow) than by plane, but we can enjoy beautiful scenery (风景) during the travel. Modern trains have comfortable seats and dining cars. Many people think they are one of {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(enjoy) parts of the long journey. 

Some people like travelling {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ship. There are large luxury liners(豪华邮轮) or river boats. They are not as {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(fast) as trains or planes. But travelling by ship is a very fantastic way {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(spend) a holiday. 

Many people like to travel by car {#blank#}9{#/blank#} they can make their own timetable (自己的时间表). They can travel {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(hundred) of miles a day, just as they want. So how will you travel?

Aocidents could happen at any time. We must be careful all the time on the road, especially on the corner of the road and at traffic lights. The rules on the road are very important. If we learn and follow them, we won't have too many accidents. 

Most traffic accidents happen because people are careless. Most of these people are old people and children. Old people usually can't see or hear very well. Children are often too careless. Listening to music on the road is very dangerous. Some drivers drive too fast, so they usually cause traffic accidents. When a car is going very fast, it travels many metres before it stops. Bicycle riders will also cause accidents by changing directions(方向) suddenly. 

Before you turn left, you should check twice to make sure there aren't any cars or buses coming. When you want to turn left, you should show your left hand to tell the driver. You should not turn until the street is clear. 

When you want to cross the road, you should look at the right side and left side to make sure the road is safe. Remember not to play on the road.
