We spent a day in the country and picked a lot of flowers. Our car was full of 1 inside. On the way home my wife saw a bookshelf outside a furniture shop. "Buy it." She said at once. "We2 it home on the roof-rack（车顶行李架）.I've always wanted one like that."

Ten minutes later we were back with the bookshelf.I drove slowly. Other drivers seemed more polite than usual that evening. The police even stopped traffic to let us go through.

After a moment my wife said, "There's a long line of cars behind. Why don't they overtake? "Just at that time a police car did overtake, and two officers inside asked us to3 their car through the busy traffic. The police car stopped at our village church.

One of the officers came to me and said, "Do you need any more4 now? " I didn't quite understand. So I said, "You've been very5 .We live just down the road."

He was looking at our things, first at the flowers, then at the bookshelf. "Well, well," he said and laughed  , " It's a bookshelf you've got here! We thought it was, er, something else."

My wife began to laugh. Suddenly I understood6 the police drove here.

A man was travelling abroad in a small red car. One day he left the car and went shopping. When he came back, the car's roof was badly damaged.

Some boys told him that  an  elephant t had damaged it. The man did not believe them, so they took him to a circus(马戏团) which was near  there. The owner of the elephant said, "I am very sorry! My elephant has a big, round red chair. He thought that your car was his chair, and he sat on it!"
    Then he gave the man a letter, in which he said that  he was sorry and he would pay for all the damage. 
    When the man got back to  his  own country, the customs officers(海关人员) did not believe his story. They said, "You sold your new car while you were abroad and bought this old one!"
    It was only thing the man could do was to take out the letter from the circus man. At last, the officers believed him.

The Little Prince is about the adventure of a young prince. The little prince comes from Planet B-612. The planet is not much bigger {#blank#}1{#/blank#} him. The prince lives on his planet with a rose. He loves the rose very much. But he soon feels tired and he leaves to look for other planets. He meets a king who likes to give orders. The little prince {#blank#}2{#/blank#} got to the Earth. He meets interesting things such as a snake， other roses and a fox. The fox tells him a secret {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the heart can tell what the most important things in life are. This helps the little prince realize his love for the rose. He returns to his own planet.

A lion is sleeping. A mouse jumps on his tail. The lion is angry. He catches(抓住) the mouse and wants to eat him.

 The mouse begs(乞求), "Let me go, please. I will(将) help you some day."

 The lion says, "Ha ha!: You can not help me. You are so small." The lion smiles and lets the mouse go.

 One day, the lion falls (掉落) in a big net (网). "Help! Help!" The lion cries (呼喊). The mouse hears the lion and runs to the lion.

 The mouse says, "Let me help you!" He cuts off the net with his teeth.

 The lion is saved (得救). They are good friends now.

 Everyone is good at something. Let's help each other(互相)!

John is a young man. His house is next to Mr Smith's house. John's friends always call him "Mr Going-to-do". Do you know why? John always says he is going to do something, but he doesn't really do it.

Every Saturday, John goes to Mr Smith's home and talks with him. He always says he is going to do something.

"I'm going to clean my house today," he says. Or "I'm going to wash my car tomorrow." Or "The tree in front of my house is too big. I'm going to cut it down next week." But Mr Smith knows he isn't going to do those things.

Mr Smith often says to his son, Mike,"Are you going to do something? Then do it. Don't be another‘Mr Going-to-do'."
