语法填空I was born in Los Angeles, California. As a child, I would ask the neighbors, "Do you want to know what{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (happen) in my house last night?" Then I'd like {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (tell) them all my family secrets! I believe those {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (story) were the beginning of my writing career(生涯)!
I went to college at UCLA and UC Berkeley where I studied English. After{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (leave) college, I taught high school{#blank#}5{#/blank#}half a year. I was a terrible teacher. My students were out of control. So I{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(give) up the job and got a new one writing educational books for children.
My writing partner was Steve Mooser. Neither of us had ever written for children, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}we decided to learn more about it by going to a meeting of children's book writers. We couldn't find one, so we threw one ourselves, setting up the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). We welcome anyone who shows an interest in children's books.
Today, the SCBWI is{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (large) children's writing organization in the world with more than 22, 000 numbers! They are child-loving and creative. Those are my favorite kind of people.
I've written a lot of books for young people. I love my work. Every day, I am thankful that I became {#blank#}9{#/blank#}famous writer. I will try my best to be {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (creative)than before and live in the world of children's books.
