We have lots of after-school activities. For example, we take school 1 every school year. Last month, my classmates and I visited one of the most famous museums in Shanghai, the Minhang Museum. As I stepped into the 2 , I felt a sense of excitement. When I went into the main hall, I 3 many pieces of ancient pottery ( 陶 器 ) on show. These ancient treasures had lovely designs in different colors. If you looked at them 4 , you could even read interesting stories from the patterns (图案) on some of their surfaces!

I had a chance to have a look at some 5 instruments in another hall. They were quite different from modern instruments. I 6 that some of the instruments had five strings (弦) , but most of them had seven strings. These instruments were of different 7 , big and small. In addition, the patterns on the bodies of the instruments were also 8 . There were different patterns like orchids ( 兰花) , bamboo, and many other pictures that 9 good meanings in our traditional culture.

Many foreigners come here, too. The museum is like a bridge which 10 Western culture with Chinese culture. It shows people its great magic.

Jean Champollion was very good at languages. He learnt twelve languages in his life. When he was eighteen , he began {#blank#}1{#/blank#} history(历史) at university. He was younger than many of his students.

Jean was very interested in ancient Egypt and in 1821he began to study the Rosetta Stone(罗塞塔石碑). A group of soldiers found this stone at Rosetta when Jean was still a young boy. It was under the sand for {#blank#}2{#/blank#}years before the soldiers dug it up (挖出来). There was a lot of strange writing on the stone. The writing was a message in three languages. One of the languages was ancient Egyptian. No one could read it at that time. But Jean {#blank#}3{#/blank#}its secret.

The ancient Egyptian was not a language with letters and words like English. It was full of {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. According to many experts (专家) , these signs showed things and ideas. Jean did not completely agree. He thought some of them {#blank#}5{#/blank#} sounds. He found 15 signs of this kind in his study of Rosetta Stone. Today, it is possible to understand ancient Egyptian from 4, 000 years ago because of Jean's discovery (发现). 

Yao Jian has been teaching in the Sandun Primary School in Datong, Shanxi Province for more than 20 years. In 1998, he chose to teach village children after graduation. At that time,the conditions of the village school were terrible. Some students had to bring chairs from home to school because there weren't enough chairs. The number of students became smaller and smaller because many villagers took their children to cities. Some teachers left the school to search for better jobs too. The teachers who stayed there had to teach all the subjects.

"I come from the poor countryside and know how important education is for village children.I will continue teaching in the school till the last student leaves."Yao said.

Because of his great work, Yao was made the headmaster of the school in 2004. In the same year, his wife started working as a teacher there too. They took good care of the students as if they were their own children. Yao used to have a heart-to-heart talk with other teachers so that they could feel at home in the school and like their work.

Many of the school's graduates have entered college. Jiao Shufeng, one of them, said,"Yao was my favourite teacher. He helped me form good study habits. I was lucky to have him as my teacher when I was young. Inspired by him, I plan to be a teacher and help more left-behind children to get better education."

Grace wasn't a popular kid in her school. The girl, Ashley, was popular and had many friends. They were in the same class 1 didn't talk much.

During the summer school, the teacher asked them to 2 a project (项目) together. Ashley didn't like working with Grace at first, but she gave in. The reason was that her cool 3 were not in the class. However, when the project ended, they became good friends and Ashley introduced (介绍) Grace to the" cool girls". To fit in with 4 group, Grace followed them around and agreed with all their opinions. She began to do what Ashley liked.

Grace decided to find out who she really was. From that day, Grace changed. She was in every play after school and built confidence to be a much 10 self. The friends she made in the theatre are still her great friends to this day.

I'll travel to Australia with my family. Both my brother and I want to go to a country that is not hot in July. The temperature in this place at that time is about 15℃. 

We're going to stay there for one week. And we'll go there by plane. We must take our passports and ID cards. Then we drew a road map for our trip and marked the places and restaurants we wanted to visit. I also checked the weather for that week, because I need tō make sure it is sunny when we play on the beach. My parents booked a beautifulB&B(民宿). We can see the sea through the window of the B&B. 

I must take my camera to record(记录) our good travel moments. I will also send postcards to my good friends and share my travel experiences with them. I can't wait to go!
