I took a trip to Shanghai with my mother during the seven-day holiday. It took more than two hours to drive to Shanghai from my home in Haimen. Shanghai is a busy and large city. Its population is over 24 . That's than the population of many other cities in China.
On the first day, I just in the hotel and rested. On the day, my mother and I went to Nanjing Road. It is the busiest street in Shanghai. When we got there, there were lots of people. We walked from one shop to . I bought two T-shirts and two of trousers for the coming summer. The T-shirts and trousers I bought are all white because white is my colour. My mother also bought some clothes. On the third day, my mother took me to Shanghai Disney Resort. It was full of people. I took many there. I had a good time.
For the other days, I went to some other interesting places, such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Huangpu River and the Shanghai International Convention Centre. I didn't forget to my homework in the evening. I had a full and happy holiday.

Just reading Chinese in textbooks can get boring. Try reading Chinese texts written for and by Chinese speakers. It will be a challenge at first but a lot more interesting once you can do it. —Ms Zhang |
Find out about the people and the culture of China. Learning a language is not just about grammar and words. It's about communicating with people who have different ways of thinking as well as speaking! —Li Jian |
Learning Chinese does take work, but you'll be more likely to stick to it if you are enjoying yourself. Play games, do role plays, sing songs and don't worry too much about making mistakes — making mistakes is often the way to learn best! —Liu Nan |
