If you ask me to tell how to get along in the United States, I think the following"dos" and"don' ts" would be helpful.

 Generally speaking, it isn't easy to find someone to talk to in a busy city, so you should try to do the following. First, get or borrow a dog ! Walk it several times a day ! Americans love dogs and cats and usually stop to talk to anyone with a dog. Then, try to eat in a restaurant. People generally share the same table and will sometimes talk to you if they see you are new there. Next, Take your dirty clothes to a laundry(洗衣店) ! It takes about an hour to wash and dry them and people there often spend the time talking with each other.

 Always ask for information from a woman if you are a man, and from a man, if you are a woman! Learn to say"Please", "Thank you" and"You are welcome" and use them all the time.

 There are some things you shouldn't do. Don't tell the truth when people ask, "How are you?" The only answer they want is"Fine". Never ask people their age-especially women! Everyone wants to be young. Don't tell heavy_people they are fat. Tell them they are losing weight. Everyone wants to be thin. Don't be late when meeting people! When someone says six o' clock, be sure to be there before six. Americans respect(尊重) time and want everyone to be on time.

It's September. Look, students in Class 31 about Teachers' Day in the classroom. It's their first Teachers' Day at junior high. Anna and Bob want to buy some cards 2 their English teacher， Miss Lee. Alice thinks it's a good idea to have a party for 3 .

She asks Anna and Bob to help hold the party this Friday, 4 Anna says Miss Lee is always busy on that day. So they will have the party 5 Saturday. Miss Lee likes eating fruit, so Anna wants to buy some ice creams. One of 6 will have fruit in it. Anna will give the fruit ice cream to Miss Lee. She thinks she will be very happy.

 When you want to buy something, do you buy it new or second-hand? These days, buying second-hand things is becoming more popular. 

 Many people have extra things to get rid of. In recent years, people have made more money and bought far more than they need, according to a speech by Wei Ying, founder of an online second-hand book-trading site. At the same time, more people are becoming interested in minimalism (极简主义). 

 Second-hand things are much cheaper than new ones, so people can save money. It's also good for the environment. In 2020, the mass of all man-made materials became greater than that of every living thing on Earth. Instead of making new things, it's a better choice to reuse old things. 

 People can even find some" extinct"(绝版的) things, or things that are no longer made. For example, some people like to buy vintage (复古的) things, including clothes and shoes. These things often go back 30 years or even more. But as long as they're in good condition, people can still use them.
