Dave is my good friend. He1in a small village. His home is far2his school and the roads are not good, So it is3for him to get to school. He4at about six o'clock every day and has breakfast quickly. Then he leaves for school at about six twenty. First, he5his bike to the bus station. It takes about forty minutes. Then he takes the No. 12 bus. It usually takes6about fifty minutes. Sometimes he has no time for breakfast at home,7he has some food on the bus.

    "I dream of taking8, It must be9." says Dave. He hopes (希望) he can go to college(上大学) in a big city some day,10? Because then he can take a train to the big city!

Amy lives far from her office. Five days a week, she gets up at about 5:30in the morning. After a quick breakfast, she walks to Finsbury Park Station.From there she goes to King's Cross Station in London by train. Then she goes to Holton in a bus. After that, she takes a taxi to her office. She gets there at about 8:00. It usually takes about two hours from her home to her office.

Tom and Mike were good friends, they began to work in a company together at the same year. They both worked hard. After several years, however, the boss made Mike manager(经理) but Tom was still an office worker. Tom couldn't stand it, so he handed a letter to his boss, saying that he decided to resign(辞职) his job because the boss didn't value his hard work at all.

The boss knew that Tom worked very hard for years. He thought for a moment and said,"I hope you will do one more thing for our company before you leave. Perhaps you will change your mind." Tom agreed. The boss asked him to go and find out if there was anyone who sold watermelons in the market. Tom returned soon. He said he had found a man selling watermelons. The boss asked the price of the watermelons. Tom shook his head and went back to the market again. When he returned, he told the boss it was $2 for each kilo.

The boss told Tom to wait for a moment in his office, and he called Mike in. He asked Mike to find if there was anyone selling watermelons in the market. Later Mike returned and said," Only one man is selling watermelons, $2 for each kilo. He has 100 watermelons in all. Every watermelon weighs about 2 kilos. They were brought here two days ago, pretty fresh and sweet." Tom got to know the difference between Mike and himself. He decided not to resign his job any more.

This is Linda's room. She's my sister. The pink room is big. You can see her photo in a cabinet(柜子). The clock and two books are in the cabinet, too.

This is my parents' room. It's purple. A big bed and a big bookcase are in the room. Lots of books are in bookcase. My parents love reading.

Alice was very excited. One of her favourite writers had just published a new book. She had saved up her money, and she was ready to buy the book this weekend. She talked about the book with her online chat (聊天) group. A lot of the other kids in the group were going to buy the book, too. In fact, that was the main thing everyone in the chat room was talking about one afternoon.

 All of a sudden, Alice got a chat message from Ella, one of the kids in the chat room. The message said that Ella wanted to meet Alice at the bookstore. Then they could buy the new book together. Alice told her mum about the message, and her mum asked, "Do you know Ella from school? "

"No, "Alice answered. "We' ve only chatted online. I don't think she goes to my school. "

 Long long ago, a happy family of four lived in a simple wooden house on a mountain. They1 quarrelled and loved each other.
