Du Fu is one of the greatest poets of China. Du is to Chinese literary (文学的) history as William Shakespeare is to English literature.
In order to show the beauty of traditional literature, the BBC made a TV programme about the poems (诗) of Du Fu.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} The BBC invited the famous British actor Ian McKellen to read 15 of Du's poems. In this way, people all around the world can enjoy the beauty of traditional Chinese literature.
