Many people are worried about the safety(安全) of seafood because of the nuclear-contaminated water(核污染水). Now Xinjiang' s "seafood" is becoming a new choice(选择) for seafood lovers.

Xinjiang is far from the sea. But it has many rivers and lakes with water from the melting(融化) snow and glaciers(冰川) of the Tianshan Mountains. With the water, fishermen can build fish ponds.

Also, land(地) in Xinjiang has a lot of salt. This is not good for growing crops(庄稼). But "one man's trash is another man's treasure". The land makes the underground water salty. People turn the salty water into "man\|made(人造的) seawater". They then use it to raise(养) sea fish.

Now, some of Xinjiang' s "seafood" goes to many cities in China. It also goes to countries in Southeast Asia(东南亚).
