It is known that there are different seasons in a year. But do you know the seasons in China? China is a large 1 and different parts have different features (特征). There are many 2 between the north and the south.

Whether yellow, red or white, the onion is a vegetable that you may not know well. The list of its uses in cooking is endless. People have used onions to add flavor(味道) to their foods for thousands of years. Besides onions' great taste, they are very good for you. They have special chemicals(化学物质) that improve your ability to fight off sickness and you have fewer chances of getting a disease. 

No matter how good onions are for you, it is difficult to cut an onion without your eyes filling with tears! When you cut into an onion, irritating(刺激性的) chemicals inside the onion will get into the air. They touch your whole eyes and cause pain. Your eyes make tears to wash away the chemicals and protect your eyes. 

Luckily, cooks and scientists have discovered some ways to keep you from crying when you cut up onions：

Cut the onion under running water. The water will wash away the chemicals before they can reach your eyes. 

Use a fan to blow air over the onion as you cut it. The air will blow the chemicals away from your eyes. 

Put the onion in a fridge for an hour before cutting. This helps make the chemicals in the onion move slowly, so they may not ever reach your eyes. 

If you try out these good ideas and still cry while cutting onions, don't worry. Scientists think if you cut more onions, your body will become more resilient to the onion's chemicals. So the tears will not last long. If you think about how healthy onions are, you might even call those tears "happy tears"．

Tony and George were painting freely. Each of them had a bottle of blue paint(油漆) and a bottle of yellow paint. 

Suddenly George said, " Look, Tony, I made green!"

" How did you do it?" asked Tony.

Hands- on learning is good for children. The learner takes an active part in it instead of just sitting and listening. This is the way that we want our children to learn. In order to learn best, children must take an active part in hands- on activities every day. Some good examples of hands- on activities are working puzzles, painting, playing simple board games together and so on.

Marketing tents as single-use（一次性的）should be stopped, festival organisers（组织者) say, as people continue to try to cut down on plastic at festivals.

Single-use festival tents should not be used, to help avoid almost 900 tons of plastic waste each year, festival organisers have said.

A group of more than 60 festivals across the UK have pushed supermarkets such as Argos and Tesco to stop marketing and selling single-use tents. Festival-goers are also encouraged to take their tents home at the end of the festival.

About 250,000 tents are left at music festivals across the UK each year. Many are not collected and end up as waste.

The action to stop the tents ending up as waste starts with the Association of Independent Festivals(AIF). AIF's 10-year report found 10% of people attending its festivals had left a tent behind during that year's festival season. This works out as about 875 tons of plastic waste, which is the weight of 240 elephants.

In 2018, the first year of a promise to cut down on plastic, festivals reported some important changes: 40% of those who had signed the promise stopped the sale of drinks in single-use plastic cups, 67% sold reusable drinks bottles, and 87% encouraged the use of reusable bottles.

AIF CEO Paul Reed said, "The message here is not to buy a more expensive tent. Festival-goers can take their tent home and reuse it, making sure that it doesn't become a single-use tent this summer."
