Last summer my parents took me to visit my uncle's family and I was so excited. My uncle lives on a big farm. It's about 100 {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(平方的) kilometres. Their house is at the foot of a large mountain. I always have a good time there.

When we got there, we first went out for a picnic with my uncle's family. We climbed to the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (顶端) of the mountain. The wind was so cool and the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(风景) were so beautiful. My cousin Rob {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(展示)me some interesting huge stones. They all had unusual {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(外形;形状). Some look like animals, and some look like {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(人). I really hoped I could take one home, but they were too big!

In the afternoon, my cousin Rob took me to the forest. We walked along a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(小路) and found a hole. It was a trap(陷阱) for hunters(猎人) to {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(抓住) little animals. We found a rabbit amd saved it. Then we saw some squirrels(松鼠) and played with them for a while. When we got home, we were so hungry and {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(渴的). We had a good dinner together. After dinner we watched TV for a while and then we went to bed.

The next day Rob {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(唤醒) me up early in the morning. We went to see the sunrise. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was so beautiful! We enjoyed it very much.

We have a colorful life at school. There are different {#blank#}1{#/blank#}of activities, such as football, baseball, swimming and cycling. As for me, I like swimming best. My father is a PE teacher. When I was a child, I often {#blank#}2{#/blank#}swimming with him. We enjoyed ourselves in the swimming pool. We both thought it was fun. Dad taught me {#blank#}3{#/blank#}to swim. I kept practicing swimming every day and I learned a lot from {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. 

I think doing sports is good {#blank#}5{#/blank#}me. I joined the school swimming club. {#blank#}6{#/blank#}I finish my homework, I often go swimming with my friends, and it helps me {#blank#}7{#/blank#}many new friends. The feeling is so great, and it makes me much {#blank#}8{#/blank#}than before. I can {#blank#}9{#/blank#}do well in my study now, and my teacher says I am a good student. 

I want to be a famous swimmer when I grow up, and I hope I can have a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to take part in the Olympics. I will try my best to make my dream come true.

Hello everyone! I'm happy to share my summer vacation plan with you. To start with,

①The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides a year into twenty- four solar terms. Start of winter, Lidong in Chinese, the 19th solar term of the year, falls on November 7th this year.

②Lidong was once a big day in ancient(古代的) China. Before the day, the emperor(帝王) would take a shower and have no meat. On that day, the emperor and his officials(官员) would all dress in black and go out of the city to welcome winter. Today, to welcome the day, some people choose to have swimming competitions in the rivers in some cold places such as Harbin in Heilongjiang Province.

③As winter comes, the weather gets colder and colder. Chinese people often eat enough food to keep their bodies warm and healthy. On the day of Lidong, people in North China love eating dumplings. In South China, people love to eat chicken, duck and fish. In some places in Guangdong Province, people eat sugar cane(甘蔗) on the day. They think this is good for their teeth. In Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, people will eat green onions for good health. In Taiwan Province, people often eat mutton.

④Lidong is the time to start wearing warm clothes. In old times, the emperor would hand out warm winter clothes to the officials on the day. People would also remember to give" clothes" to their lost family. They would also have delicious food to show how much they missed the lost ones.

I have always been big. I am comfortable with my body but there is a price to pay for being different. 

In primary school, I was crazy about gymnastics and was actually the team leader in my final year, but I had to make up for my shortcomings. Long after the other girls had left, I would still be in the school hall, trying my best to practice again and again without the coach around. It took months to master the ribbon(带子) and in the early days, I always got my ribbon in a terrible knot(结). However, I carried on and improved a lot. 

Whenever I went up in a competition, I always got the sense that the crowd did not expect much from an overweight child in front of them. They talked about my weight in low voices. One man even said, "That's the ugliest leotard(紧身衣) I've ever seen and the elephant inside it seems to be much better!" Hearing their words, you could understand my feelings. However, I just kept silent because I decided to let my ribbon do the talking. I worked harder on my ribbon and it showed. 

I was the winner in National Championship that year, but that was not the best thing I got from hours of tiring practice. The best thing was that my body cannot decide who I am. Society seems to believe that overweight people are unhappy with their weight and have low self-confidence, so they never count much. I do not believe that. I believe I can achieve anything because I am bigger than my body. 

"Act your age," said Aunt Augusta sharply(严厉地). Frances had been blowing bubbles(气泡) in her bedtime milk. But it seemed that Aunt Augusta was 1 anyway.

 Frances was quiet. She felt better when Aunt Augusta had 2 visiting them and gone home.

 Grandma chuckled(轻声笑) and said, "That's the first time I' ve heard Frances laugh all evening. I'm glad she remembers 13 to smile."

 The next afternoon Frances was playing hopscotch(跳房子游戏) with Grace when Julie came over.
