An old man was walking in a street with his horse. It was raining hard. The old man was cold because he was walking in the rain. He wanted to go to a restaurant. It was a quarter past three in the afternoon. The old man got to a small restaurant. There were lots of people in it. The old man couldn't come near the fire. He thought and thought. At last he said to the waiters, "Take some fish to my horse." The waiter and the people were very surprised. The waiter said, "A horse doesn't eat fish." The old man told the waiter, "This horse is very interesting. It can sing, dance and do all kinds of things. It can eat fish, too," So the waiter brought the horse some fish.
       All the people in the restaurant ran out to see the horse eat except the old man. Now the old man sat beside the fire. After a while the waiter came back and said, "Your horse didn't eat any fish." The old man said, "All right, take the fish back and put it on the table. I'll eat it."

Every year students in other countries learn Chinese. Some of these students are children, and others are adults. Some learn at school, and others learn by themselves. 

Sally is a British girl. Her classmates and she learns Chinese at school three times a week. Chinese is one of their school subjects. Sally learns Chinese very hard, so her, Chinese is better than her classmates. 

Last month, Sally had a trip in Beijing with her family. She likes this city very much. She went to the Great wall and the Summer Palace. They took lots of beautiful pictures. During the holiday, Sally made a friend with a Chinese girl Xiaoling. They become good friends. After Sally went back to England, she always talks to Xiaoling by email.

Mike goes to school from Monday to Friday. His favourite day is Monday. On Monday, he has maths, English, music and PE. Maths is his first class. He often answers the teacher's questions. In English class, he reads many English stories. He plays the piano or sings songs in music class. In the afternoon, he has PE. He likes PE best. He sometimes plays football in the playground. He's not good at running. But he plays football well.
