Almost all animals need to sleep, but some have special ways.

The albatross（信天翁）is one of the largest flying birds. They fly in the sky for months without getting to the ground. They can fly about 22,000 kilometers around the Earth in 46 days! They sometimes even sleep when they are flying.

A flamingo（火烈鸟） can sleep when standing on one leg. The standing leg always stays in the water. The other le g stays close to its body. Its head lies on its back.

Horses often sleep when standing up. If a horse lies down, it needs a long time to get up. A standing horse can escape more quickly when it sees dangerous things. And horses only need about three hours of sleep a day.

Giraffes sleep the shortest time. They sleep about 30 minutes a day, and 5 minutes at a time. They lie down when they sleep. They put their heads on their bodies or on the ground. What an interesting way of sleeping!

My name is Cindy. I think the house where I live is beautiful and comfortable.

The living room is not very big. You can see a green sofa and a brown table. A big TV is on the wall. A CD player is on the table. It's Mary's. She is my aunt's daughter.

This is my room. I have many things in my room and they're in different colors. In the middle of the room is a yellow bed. The quilt on the bed is white. Next to the bed is a brown bookcase. Some English books, Chinese books, computer books and picture books are in it. A red sofa, a blue desk and a brown chair are in my room, too. A photo of my family and a map are on the wall. I don't have a TV or a computer, but I have a radio. It's white. I like listening to English on it every day. You can see it on the bookcase.

Fashionable clothes, new mobile phones and holidays: do they make you happy? What are the most important things in life? Researchers in Britain asked 5,000 girls and boys aged 10-15 this question. The answer is" the simple things" are the most important.

Friends, a good home life and sports make children happy. They say these things are more important than money. I'm very pleased that a lot of children understand what is good for them and what is bad for them.

What about the Internet? Do Facebook and YouTube make children happy? Do happy children spend lots of time online? The researchers asked children about it and they learnt something very interesting. Children who use the Internet for only one hour a day are happy, but children who spend lots of time online aren't very happy. This is because they don't have time for other activities that can make them happy. For example, they don't play a sport, ride their bike or meet their friends.

But it isn't only activities with friends that make children happy.

Children who have their own bedroom are happier. Maybe when they share a bedroom with a brother or sister, there are lots of fights! Food is important, too. Children who don't eat fruit and vegetables every day, or children who have a lot of fast food are usually less happy. Are you eating something bad for you now? Stop! It's bad for your health and your happiness.

So, who is happier— girls or boys? Girls aged 10-12 are the happiest, but girls aged 13-15 are the least happy. The researchers say the older girls are unhappier for two reasons. Firstly, their parents are worried about their friends and they don't want them to go out a lot. Secondly, the older girls start to worry about how they look. Boys don't usually have this pressure.

I have a good friend. His name is Nick. Both of us like watching movies and all {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of talent shows. Last Sunday afternoon, we went to the cinema together. The cinema is the closest to our homes. So we walked there. It has the biggest screens and the most comfortable seats in town. You can sit there {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, watch great movies and enjoy your time with your friends. We saw a funny movie called Mr. Bean. I think it's the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} movie. 

After we got out of the cinema, we went to a restaurant near the movie theater to have a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. There are lots of dishes on the menu. The food in the restaurant is really delicious. What's more, it's the cheapest in town and it has the friendliest {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. 

Then we watched a talent show on TV. It's very interesting to watch other people show their talents. Every performer is good at something, but some of them are truly talented.

 You asked about places to go and things to do in my town. Well, you can1 to go to Downtown Mall, I think. It's a shopping place in the oldest part of my town. There are some good 2 and restaurants. For example, Trendy Clothes Store is in Downtown Mall. You can buy clothes the most 3 there. The shop assistants are friendly to people. It really has good 4 . My favorite restaurant in town is Nick's Restaurant. It is 5 to my house. It's cheap and the hamburgers there are great. I like Dragon City Restaurant, too. You can eat wonderful noodles there and the beef noodles are the most 6 ! You must try the dumplings there, too! But it's more expensive than Nick's. Big Cinema is the best cinema in town. It has the biggest 7 . And seats in it are so big and 8 . Del Ray Complex is also a good place to see movies. It doesn't have the newest movies, but the 9 are the cheapest. 

Anyway, there are lots of things to do and to see here. And it 10 you a good chance to understand the old town. Come for a visit soon!

 It's Sunday today. Jack and his parents are free. So They go to the park(公园) for a picnic. They go there by car. Jack's father drives the car. They take some favorite food with them, such as chicken, hamburgers and cakes. They also take some orange juice and water. Jack's mom takes some apples and bananas, too. She says they are good for them.

 After lunch, they fly the kites. Jack has two kites and he likes flying kites very much. It's windy today. Jack's father helps him with the kites. The family are happy. Then they go to the zoo. They see many animals at the zoo. They are cute.
