From a young age, I had known what I wanted to become. 1 an accident made me redefine(重新定义) myself.

To me, skating was the most important. There was 2 else in this world that filled my heart with such happiness. I spent twenty-four hours a week practising my 3 . Having no social life or other interests but skating, my devotion(挚爱) brought me first place medals in nearly every 4 .

Unluckily, in one show, I fell down and hurt myself 5 . After several X-rays and MRI (磁共振成像) scans, the 6 told me that I couldn't return to my sport any more. The pain in my back was serious, and even the 7 daily tasks became difficult.

It seemed as if someone had 8 my passion(激情), and I didn't. know what I wanted to become. After eight months of pain, I knew I had to 9 something. Instead of wasting my days sitting around painfully, I began to put my 10 into local community service projects. By volunteering(自愿做)11 a swimming teacher and summer reading helper for kids, I. got an idea of what I 12 to become. After a few months, I spent time on my interest in the arts. Little by little, I 13 out of the shadow(阴影) and rebuilt my confidence.

Sometimes, some14 rocks block(堵住) our way. We can choose to stay behind or try to climb over. My accident was a rock that couldn't 15 me from reaching success. Today I'm a very confident person.

I'm a bit of an airplane fan. For the past few years, I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (have) many model planes on my desk at work. You can imagine my joy when I had the chance to experience the first flight ofC919 jet yesterday. Luckily, I got one just before the tickets {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (sell) out. 

Before boarding, I found that almost every one of the 160 {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (passenger) walked around the plane to celebrate this historic moment. They got more excited {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ever before and some began to take selfies (自拍) . {#blank#}5{#/blank#} happy they were! 

The {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (excite) continued on board as the C919 took off. A special breakfast {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (serve): Shanghai noodles, some White Rabbit milk {#blank#}8{#/blank#} a special dessert with a "World's First C919" logo on it. It was a pretty short flight, about 2. 5 hours from Shanghai to Chengdu. Soon we landed at our destination, and we cheered {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (loud). Almost everyone seemed overjoyed to have taken part in such a proud moment for China. 

Now I‘m looking forward to {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (see) what new planes COMAC (中国商飞公司) has planned for the future. I can't wait to see them take on Airbus and Boeing! 

After a day of hard work, Kevin's father went back home. He wanted to take a shower, and then to 1 and enjoy the rest of the day.

When he was finishing his shower, the phone rang. "Dad, it's for you. Come on!" Kevin shouted. His father finished up his shower 2 . When he ran to the phone, he fell on the floor.

"Owww!" Kevin's dad shouted loudly because he 3 his left foot. Hearing the shout, Kevin ran to check and saw his dad 4 on the floor. He broke his left foot. His father's face turned pale (苍白的), 5 he said to his son, "Kevin, call your mom."

Amy and Susan both live an ordinary （普通的） life. They have an ordinary house, an ordinary job and an ordinary family. There is really nothing 1 about their lives.

So what is the8 between the two friends? Why does Amy's life seem so much better most of the time? The 9 with Susan is that she tries to do so many different things at the same time that she doesn't do any of them well. However, Amy takes everything one step at a time. She stays present in the moment and tells 10 to do just one thing at a time. 

Alice was very excited. One of her favourite writers had just published a new book. She had saved up her money, and she was ready to buy the book this weekend. She talked about the book with her online chat (聊天) group. A lot of the other kids in the group were going to buy the book, too. In fact, that was the main thing everyone in the chat room was talking about one afternoon.

 All of a sudden, Alice got a chat message from Ella, one of the kids in the chat room. The message said that Ella wanted to meet Alice at the bookstore. Then they could buy the new book together. Alice told her mum about the message, and her mum asked, "Do you know Ella from school? "

"No, "Alice answered. "We' ve only chatted online. I don't think she goes to my school. "

"Listen, "Alice's mum was anxious and said, "I want you to have friends, but sometimes, people online aren't who they say they are. And when you' re online, you can't always tell. So I don't think it's a good idea for you to meet this person. "

"But, Mum, "Alice said, "what if it is just a kid named Ella who wants to buy a book with me? "

 Alice's mum considered that for a moment. Then she said, "Let's do this. Dad and  I will go with you to the bookstore to buy the book with Ella. If Ella really is just a kid who wants to meet you in person, that's great. If not,      ▲      . "

 Alice didn't like that idea. It made her feel like a baby. But she knew her mum was right about safety, so she finally nodded. Then she answered Ella's message. She told Ella that she and her parents would be at the bookstore the next afternoon.

 The next day, Alice went to the bookstore with her mum and dad. When Ella never showed up and then disappeared from the chat room, Alice knew her parents were right. She was glad they were there to be with her.
