Henry is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} American businessman. One day, when he was sailing (航行) on a boat near San Francisco, he was carried out into the sea by a strong wind. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (luck), he was discovered and picked up by a London-bound( 开往伦敦的) ship. So he {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (land) in London by accident. Alone and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (hunger), he walked on the streets of the city. Unexpectedly, he {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (call) into a big house. There two rich{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (brother), Oliver and Roderick, gave him a letter and told {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(he) not to open it until two o'clock of the day. Henry didn't know it was a million-pound (百万英镑) bank note. He left the big house and went into a cheap restaurant to get something to eat. Everyone was impolite and impatient to him. Why? {#blank#}8{#/blank#}he was in rags (衣衫褴褛) and looked dirty. Then, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} everyone's surprise, he handed the owner a million-pound bank note to pay for the meal. On seeing the note, all the people in the restaurant became friendly and tried their best {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (please) Henry. Don't you think it's the most unbelievable story in the world?

When I was a child, I lived in a small house with my parents. We lived in a 1 , not in a big city. There wasn't a comfortable (舒适的) bedroom or living room 2 my family. All of us crowded in a 3 room. The bathroom and the kitchen were public(公共的). Several families 4 one. The life was a little difficult,5 I was happy. 

I studied in a primary school there. The teachers were 6 me. Maybe I was kind of naughty at that time. But I was friendly to all the 7 . All my classmates liked to 8 with me. They were nice to me. 

At that time, watching a movie in the 9  was really expensive. I always saved money for a long time 10  to watch a movie. Cartoons were my favourite at that time, and I 11 got bored with them. 

Now, many years have passed. I don't12 with my family now. I don't need to save 13 just for a movie. And 14 is as strict as my teachers in the primary school. Are these good 15 ? Maybe they are. But sometimes I just want to go back to the time when I was a child. 

Several years ago, I spent most of my time at a mental hospital (精神病院) in our town. I found much joy there. At first it was a little scary to be there, but I stayed on, because I had a reason for doing this.

I volunteered in a locked-up (封闭的) environment. To my surprise, I found that a friend of my parents' was a patient in this hospital. I knew, when I was a baby, this woman wanted to keep me because she had no children. I looked after this woman and showed my old photos to her. Finally, she was able to remember some old things, and she said to me one day, "Dear, you should not come here." But I wanted to bring something happy into this woman's life. I learned that because she had no family, she couldn't leave here and go home. So I brought her to my home twice and I still remembered the happy smile on her face.

I have never forgotten this volunteering experience. This woman later passed    away. I can't see her anymore, but I'm happy that I have done something to make a difference in another person's life.

Why do you open a school? If you ask Nadia Lopez this question, she would simply answer: to close a prison. Lopez is the founder of Mott Hall Bridges Academy, a public school in Brooklyn. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

To set up the school, Lopez faced many challenges. The greatest challenge was to get in touch with children without hope. At first, Lopez only had 45 kids. She once asked some girls, "{#blank#}2{#/blank#}" The answer was, "I don't know if I'm going to live that long." or "I have a lifelong goal of working in a fast-food restaurant nearby." These students had no idea that there were great chances outsider their neighborhood.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} And they have tried their best to keep their students active an hopeful. "We call our students students 'scholars（学者）' because they are lifelong learners. I chose the colors purple and black to remind students that they are excellent. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They can be future engineers, scientists and even leaders who can and will take over this world," Lopez said.

A popular New York blogger heard about the school and wrote a post about it, telling people how the children struggled（挣扎）, and why people must make education the most important thing. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} About 1.4 million dollars were raised for the school and its students got to take field trips to colleges and universities.

"Up to now, we have had three graduating classes（毕业班）. They have nearly 200 children," said Lopez.
 

Tom, Jim and Ted are cousins. They study in different schools. They usually go to the countryside to see their grandparents on weekends. 

Their grandparents have a farm. Every weekend, Tom, Jim and Ted go to the farm to see their grandparents by bike. They meet at Tom's home on Saturday morning and start at 2:00 in the afternoon. They take a lot of food and drinks such as bread, water, eggs, bananas and so on. 

After three hours, they get to their grandparents' farm. Their grandparents are happy. On Sunday, Tom, Jim and Ted help with the farm work in the morning. They keep the chickens and water the vegetables. At noon, their grandmother always cooks fish and many vegetables for them. She cooks well. Jim didn't like vegetables in the past (在过去). But now, those vegetables are so nice and he likes them a lot. In the afternoon, their grandfather teaches them to fly kites. Their kites fly high. What an interesting country life! They all have a wonderful weekend.
